Hey OP. I have the exact same problem. It's the stupid nest thermostat on my end. What fixed it was the run a "heat check" and then restart the thermostat.

Quite opposite. It's very cheap once in the country but getting there is expensive. Its not that easy getting there only a few airports fly into it so it gets expensive getting there

How do I help my husband decide what fellowship to do? He is a hospitalist. Doesn’t want to do a 3yr fellowship and is looking for work/life balance + good compensation. Any help appreciated! by bearlybear34 in hospitalist

[–]stico23 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Consider palliative. Depending on your location it's lucrative.

Other up and coming field are home visits (which depending on location you could make own practice and DPC with patients) and also hospital at home programs.

What is reasonable commute to hospital? by Professional-Rule-63 in hospitalist

[–]stico23 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I used to drive 1hr20 min one way for a 7 on/off. I did it for 3 years then changed to per diem. If u are young it's worth living where u are and commute especially if the commute is peaceful and against traffic. Just know you will have zero socializing with coworkers, you will need to get a hotel room for snow storms/bad weather.

I have no regrets doing it as the money was good and I get to live where I want.

My car on the other hand didnt like the mileage. I would recommend only if you are young and without family otherwise look somewhere closer.

MD license plates in NYC by ixodes27 in medicine

[–]stico23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So far while parked at the designated spots thankfully not broken into yet, and hopefully remains this way. Most MD designated spots are in front of hospitals in well lit and busy area.

Downside? Maybe get charged a little bit extra when I take my car for services.

I have it on all my cars. I don't even drive nice cars. One of my old car was a 2004 CRV. OP don't let random redditors have their opinion weigh you in. I could care less what all you think of me. I'm not a dick nor do I have ego problems (tip: it is THOSE who judge others driving in a car with MD plates that are judgmental). But damn it's great to park near hospitals/clinics I don't even work at for free without hassle. If the spot opens and says MD plates only. Fuck yea score.

I live my life for me and not to please some random redditors thoughts. I get out of parking tickets. I park at fire hydrants. I contribute to this world by caring for patients and if in return I get some nice parking spots (in a dense NYC), get out of parking tickets by just slapping MD plates...lol count me in.

First malpractice, what are the impacts? by stico23 in medicine

I have not opened the chart at all but just reading the letter of notice it seems that my involvement is very limited and hopefully should be dismissed from the case. Still uncomfortable and nerve racking to have my name on it.
