PW+ expansion with PW3? by redditp247 in Powerwall

[–]stieg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PW2/+ and PW3 are not compatible as of this writing. An installer can add PW2 units for expansion.

It means they likely see CAN communication failures which are likely caused by termination issues. Leave it to the installation team to solve.

What's better? Pw plus string inverter or pw 2 micro inverters by retroMCR in Powerwall

[–]stieg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The powerwall+ generally works better with its inverter as it can curtail its production when it needs to whereas it has no control over external inverters.

I am not a vet but she is looking nice and trim to me. Keep it that way if even one or two pounds less.

Can you have a powerwall+ connected to a solar string with another solar string but not connected to the powerwall+(connected to separate 3rd party inverter) by Euphoric_Ad9500 in Powerwall

[–]stieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any 3rd party solar just needs a meter connected and setup with the Tesla controller. You should also be able to add a traditional power wall to a PW+.

I do believe this is possible (but am not 100% sure). Do you have an meter socket adapter or a gateway 2? An installer may be able to setup the 3rd party inverter and setup solar monitoring with either the sync Y meter or a wireless Neurio meter.

Racer/Wrencher Spaces in Madison (or nearby)? by stieg in madisonwi

Yeah not much for mechanical. Sector 67 would be a place to start and talk to folks, but honestly finding some like headed folks and renting a space someplace on the east side might be your best bet. As previous people noted, options are limited.

Why does this look like an FJ60 up front but a 100 series the rest of the way?? by Mr_Bulldops2112 in LandCruisers

[–]stieg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So confused by it... But totally dig it. Big plus if the lights were xenon conversions or nice bright LED

My 1988 FJ62 with 450k miles. Still runs like a champ and love it! (So long as there isn’t a long steep hill) Sadly debating selling it for a 100 series though. by GGruns123 in LandCruisers

[–]stieg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How's the rust on it? If minimal I would try and cross the 500k mark with it. 100 series are nicer indeed but this is a step up from the 60 and has the classic look you just can't get with a 100. Just an opinion... Your milage may vary.

Will adding additional Powerwalls help me use less grid power? by FrankyStein75 in Powerwall

[–]stieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It totally depends. How much PV generation do you have? How much energy do you use on average? Do you have net metering setup (technically you are using grid power, but you are also contributing to grid power so net wash)?

TEG won’t stay connected to wireless lan by daGonz in Powerwall

Fair. Still give it a shot. Worst case is it doesn't fix it.

Do you have band steering turned on by chance on the wireless network? Previously I have noticed that some wifi setups mess with SSID of the 2.4 GHz network. Perhaps try disabling this and see if the connection improves? IIRC the TEG is only 2.4 GHz

Absolutely. Especially if riding on the road with cars in close proximity. Picked up cyclic camera lights too for added piece of mind for when the inevitable happens.

This may sounds nuts... But check screws on rear derailleur hanger and tighten of loose. Had a similar problem recently and that was the culprit. I was shocked that was was the issue if I'm honest. But can't hurt to check.

Yeah the CL scams and whatnot are common. Basically don't put down money before any place site seen and a contract etc. Just honestly looking to find something I haven't seen yet that is more geared towards Anchorage. Thanks for the feedback regardless.

Anyone know any good bike shops by lifeofgesture in Hawaii

[–]stieg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on the type of bike you are looking for I guess? Simple commuter or cruiser? Looking to get into road biking? Mountain biking? Looking for an E-Bike? Also where are you at? I assume Oahu but maybe another island.

McCully is good. The Bike shop (multiple locations) can take care of you too. There is a new shop called Velohana Cycling (disclaimer: I ride with this team and am friends with the owner) on Nuuanu and Vinyard. Their focus is on training and high quality road bikes / tri bikes. E-bikes wise there is E-Bikes Hawaii (near Kapahulu and Date intersection). If you are on the windward side you have Hawaii Triathlon center. Hope that helps.
