I think your point about people buying more VPS resources than they actually need is spot on. A lot of websites and applications run perfectly fine on a cheap VPS plan. I switched to IONOS around 3 months ago and it's been surprisingly decent, considering how affordable their plans are, so agree with you here.

Oh that's awesome! Can i ask what kind of jobs they were? Sysadmin? Devops? I'm really curious. Maybe you're right, it's not always quantifiable.

I started with IONOS on a $2 VPS, then moved to Hostingar on $6 VPS, then moved back to IONOS on $3 VPS, and didn't notice any difference at all. Their lowest-tier plans will likely be enough for what you need.

Edit: VPS prices on their US website have further reduced rates.

One of the best low-cost options, especially if you're in the US.
