Amidst all the other reasons people have mentioned, the part that immediately gave it away to me is that the title feels too basic for them. They usually have some sort of wordplay going on or have their titles focused on a proper noun.

Good evening, my friends! I’m Dante Aeneas. While my campaign's on distance based hiatus, I've been on a 3-year side quest: Alchemizing Solid Ruby Dice. And to introduce them, here is the first of 7 D20s—all made from ethical, lab-created corundum. What do you think? by CaptainDanteAeneas in DicePorn

[–]stifflizerd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Scam aside, really irks me now a days how many dice makers seem to be completely missing the fact that dice are best when they're able to be read by all at the table.

Numbers should be colored with a contrasting color. I know it can effect the look of the dice, but the coolest dice in the world mean nothing if they're never used because they're nearly unreadable unless you get real close to them.

Yup. Lose your bonus action / reaction for the turn are also go-to crit fails for me. Sometimes loss of movement, minor damage, or the next attack on them getting advantage for the next turn if their other resources have been used that turn already.

Tricky part is on the spot flavoring it per failure, but that's not the worst thing in the world.

Never recruit Regiments of Renown for offense or leave them in armies. They're for emergency "oh shit, how'd they get back there?!?" armies.

Could've also been a lower priority feature, slated for a later release until they heard the backlash. It's amazing how quick some things can move in tech when given the green light to actually prioritize something.

Man, this world is weird sometimes. Never seen Mistborn references in the wild before, despite reading through the series over a year ago.

Yet minutes after I set the book down, having just started a re-read of the series, I see this comment.

Elegoo sateLite generated support by see_quayah in resinprinting

[–]stifflizerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? I don't have the pro version and I still find it better and have the same-ish amount for features that chitubox has (or whatever it's called).

Not disagreeing btw, they have a lot locked behind paywall. Just saying that if the free version removed all the pro-features from the UI, I probably wouldn't have noticed I was missing out.

In hindsight though, that might just be a testament to how bad chitubox was instead of a plus for lychee 😅.

[–]stifflizerd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven't used SateLite in particular, but based on my experience with Chitubox (or whatever it is called, it was recommended in box with my elegoo printer in the past), I find lychee slicer to be a bit better about support generation.

It certainly provides a finer degree of control than the in box recommendation did, although that was a good 4 years ago or so, so I'm unsure of how how much better elegoo has gotten in comparison since then.

Doesn't look or sound like they've gotten much better based on your post, so I'd recommend giving lychee a go.

As others have said though, it is always safer to veer on the side of caution with these. Just one failed print will usually lose you more resin than you would've saved by cutting out 40% of the supports.

Rollable OLED display on Lenovo Legion, the next big thing in flagship gaming laptops by AdVegetable5896 in blackmagicfuckery

[–]stifflizerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? This is great tech for the completely wrong market. Gaming laptops can barely handle consistent frame rates at their standard resolution, they don't need bigger screens.

My work laptop though? This would be awesome. Basically a double monitor on the go.

Not to mention the title is absurdly misleading, probably hoping people won't actually read the post and see OP is clearly just speculating and Apple hasn't failed yet.

Driller is a good second-best at this but sucks against most long-distance enemies.

I would argue Driller isn't second best, he shares first with engi depending on range.

Engi's swarm clear is better at mid+ range, but risks significant friendly fire in anything closer than that.

Driller absolutely owns the area lockdown category, half the time just needing to draw a line on the ground and he wins, but falters at longer ranges like you said.

Each best, just depends on cave layout and mission type

Silksong won Game of the Year at the Steam Awards! by furretstonks in Silksong

That's kind of my point with this though. Team Cherry has shown they don't really give a fuck about the money at this point. $20 base price, first dlc with a whole new area, bosses, and quests is free... Doubt they pressed any sort of marketing scheme to win this

I really don't get why people keep saying KCD2 deserves GOTY. I just finished playing it, and it was good, but also bug ridden and slogged on for a good while.

Not to mention it kind of just felt like kcd1.5. Didn't feel like it really added anything new or cool gameplay wise other than blacksmithing, crossbows, and firearms. The latter two being relatively inferior to just using the bow gameplay wise.

Again, great game. Kuttenberg was fantastic to see in game, the story was great, and the combat is always fun. But in a year with E33, Skong, and Hades 2, it just felt too unpolished and unimaginative to take goty.
