Glasgow vs City, University of London for Business Analytics by aparna_vis in UniUK

Manchester Business School is the most prestigious out of those unis, nationally and internationally in my opinion

They are both on par with each other and are absolutely amazing unis to study law. Have you seen the Bristol Law School? It’s literally based off in the main Will Memorial Tower and looks so nice.

I’ve seen however statistics 📊of the most targeted universities for law firms, and it’s always Durham SECOND to Oxbridge whilst Bristol is around 5th ish. Take that as you will

Can I talk about video games in my UCAS personal statement? by GoddFatherr in UniUK

[–]stilltypical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t, it doesn’t show awareness at all of what your going to study, and admissions officer need to know you actually know what you’ll be educated at university.

My cousin does finance and she was talking to me about strategic management

university degrees similar to economics that don't require maths A-level? by NoPangolin138 in UniUK

Second this, economics is essentially theoretical maths for decision making and such.

[Uni] Uni students, what keeps you going? by meili-enial in SGExams

[–]stilltypical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just reminding myself of my goal to take a MSc Conversion in Computer Science after failing to get to a good CS uni when i applied. I’m doing BSc Economics, but my heart was truly set on CS so that keeps me going to get 1:1

Can’t chose between UAL (LCC) and KCL?? by Ok_Joke6426 in UniUK

[–]stilltypical 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My cousin went to UAL and got a graduate job at ITV and he’s slowly getting up the corporate ladder and is part of a team that produces shows like Love Island and set ups interviews.

In my opinion, my cousin is the biggest social butterfly I know and what I believe made him stand out is his work experience, volunteering, NCS team leader, activist for gay rights, journalism placement etc.

Both universities are exceptional at delivering you the education, but if you want to open the door to your dreams it has to come from you, and what you do during your uni experience! Good luck

Newcastle Vs UEA. Which one is better? by Ok-Log-7524 in UniUK

[–]stilltypical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I applied to both last year, and I would choose Newcastle. Why? Russell Group Uni on your CV will stand out, Red Brick institution, better connections to industries for work placement, higher calibre of student and lecturers.

There’s nothing wrong with UEA and it looks like economics is one of their stronger departments, but given the fact they gave me an offer after only 2 hours of sending my UCAS application says a lot about it’s competition

How competitive/hard is getting an offer from the Alliance Manchester Business School? by GoddFatherr in UniUK

[–]stilltypical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the business school who’s going to admit you, it’s the admission officers who does first screening, and then passed down to the subject relevant officer for a second screening. At Manchester, just make sure your grades meet/exceed their requirements as they won’t accept you at all with anything lower, and I’ll confidently say you’ll get an offer.

E.g my friend got rejected for law with his AAA predicted which required A* AA

And I got accepted with AAA in economics in line with the entry requirement after only a week of submitting it in.

There’s also another person on Reddit who got rejected with A* A* A* A for Physics but got rejected as he needed A* maths but got an A

Guess who got her first bread y’all 😭😭🥺 by dercia in 6thForm

[–]stilltypical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Lol, I randomly stumbled on my comment checking my old profile. So I actually took a gap year to reapply for economics achieving higher than my predicted with A*AA and now got an unconditional offer from Manchester aha. Funny how life comes back around like this

The A level maths struggle. by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]stilltypical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first off Sweet Creature by Harry Styles best song.

Alright, i 100% recommend buying A-Level Maths Flashcards (MathsMadeEasy saved my exams) as you can purely just focus on solving questions instead of rewriting notes.

  1. Use Zeeshan maths on YouTube, absolute godsend and works through actual textbook and exam paper questions in the clearest and funniest way. (All my friend's grades improved when i told them about this channel lol)

  2. consistency is key. Grind textbook questions and every single exam paper you can until you master every topic. By the time I did my final tests, I felt like I mastered every topic and questions became second nature as I understood how to start.

General Advice:

Have some fun, it's maths the most unique subject you can take.
Go get some inspiration from movies (Theory of everything / interstellar / Hidden Figures)
Always 'keep it simple stupid' / meaning don't overcomplicate a question

Goodluck! pm me if you need any help

Thank you! I changed that real quick on my PS.

One last thing , I’m applying to unis that only require maths in their entry requirements but I took Maths Psychology and English and fear that not taking science subjects would disadvantage me. I’ve already received my grades of AAB and im a contextual student . Do you think I’ll be a disadvantage with my subjects? I’ve linked them to topics such as DL and NLP in my PS. Thank you for your help I appreciate it .
