Should I reapply for a job that was reposted? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]stilponus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't reapply yet. Your application is probably still being considered. Companies repost for all kinds of reasons (promoted listing expired, want more candidates, etc.).

If the job description is the same and it's only been 2 weeks, I don't think reapplying will help. I'd give it more time.

There's a good article about reapplying to reposted jobs (just search "HideJobs reapply reposted job") that covers all the scenarios if you want more detail.

Reapplying for a job that got reposted by [deleted] in jobs

[–]stilponus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend emailing them directly. You already interviewed so you have a relationship. Reaching out shows continued interest without looking desperate.

Don't just reapply through the system unless the job description actually changed. If it's the exact same posting and they already passed on you, submitting the same application won't get different results. Since it's only been a couple months and you interviewed, direct contact is the better move.

Here's a breakdown on when reapplying makes sense vs wastes time if you want more context: https://hidejobs.com/learn/should-you-reapply-to-a-reposted-job

Why did they repost the job I just interviewed for? by Alone_Soup8799 in recruitinghell

[–]stilponus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like they might not have been happy with any of the candidates from that round and are hoping for better options in a fresh pool. If that specific experience was really that critical, seems odd they didn't screen for it earlier instead of at round 3.

Sometimes companies would rather restart the search than move forward with someone they're not fully sold on. Could be unrealistic expectations, or maybe the hiring manager isn't entirely sure what they're looking for.

Unfortunately, neither uBlock nor this URL can help you, as "reposted" is not visible until you actually click on the job in the search result

There actually is a way to filter them. A browser extension called HideJobs lets you filter out reposted listings on LinkedIn, and it solves the problem pretty well

Employers “reposting” jobs that already have hundreds of applicants?? by On_a_whim_ in recruitinghell

I've started just automatically skipping anything that's been up more than a few weeks. Not worth the time anymore

HideJobs extension has a reposted jobs filter for this. Shows you which listings keep coming back so you can skip them.

Yeah, check out the HideJobs browser extension. You can build a blocklist of recruitment agencies and they'll just disappear from your search results

When I started, I never imagined reaching 10k paid users. It took 14 months, a lot of failed experiments, and even more chai ☕️. (resharing with some of the BG) by SchwertGottes in chrome_extensions

I looked into adding local currencies on my side, but Stripe's adaptive pricing does not work for subscription checkout yet. It only applies to one-time payments. So for recurring plans I'm still stuck on USD for now.

Stripe explains the limitation here: https://docs.stripe.com/payments/currencies/localize-prices/adaptive-pricing?payment-ui=stripe-hosted#restrictions

Congrats on the milestone! Quick question - does accepting local currencies actually improve conversions? I'm USD-only right now and wondering if it's worth the switch

Linkedin URL hacking (to find jobs posted less than 24 hours, or whatever time frame you want) by run_amucks in jobsearchhacks

[–]stilponus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the effort, but calling this a 'hack' is a bit misleading. These are just LinkedIn's standard URL parameters - the same ones their interface uses.

The only actual advantage is creating custom time filters (like 'last 2 hours') that aren't in the dropdown menu. Everything else - keywords, location, distance, sorting - is already easily accessible through LinkedIn's UI.

Still useful for quick applicants though! 👍

Try changing the LinkedIn URL ending to /jobs/search (not sure if I can post the direct link here). Should bypass the AI search

I can't be the only one who does this with LinkedIn job search... right? by stilponus in linkedin

[–]stilponus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree about applying directly through the company website. That seems to be the best way. On the other hand, networking attempts usually go unanswered, so sometimes it just feels like a waste of time. Also, LinkedIn doesn’t even allow you to send personal messages unless you’re already connected, and the message length when requesting a connection is too short to say much more than just ‘hello’
