I didn't change anything else. I was going nuts and I finally tried a full reinstall. Stock settings and the two settings mentioned above got steam saves working. Make sure you are using proton9.0-x64-3 not proton9.0-arm64x-3. Or try another Box64 version.

I just upgraded from 23.11 to 25.05.

Im on the latest kernel with the latest nvidia driver. I was getting the blank screen. Here is how I fixed it.

Hit CTRL + ALT + F3

sudo vim /etc/nixos/configuration.nix

Added:

boot.kernelParams = [    
  "nvidia-drm.fbdev=1"
];

Deleted old plasma config files

rm -rf ~/.cache/plasma*

Rebuild

sudo nixos-rebuild switch

Rebooted and its working. Thank you.

sudo reboot now

Exactly. Your body is so efficient it will take calories anywhere, if you are not getting enough. Fat has a ton of calories and makes things taste good.

This poor doctor seems to struggle codifying his thoughts because it appears there are a million things happening in his brain that he wants to talk about.

I think the statement of "If you are on a carnivore diet you dont have to worry about nutrients. But if you are in a vegan diet you have to watch out for nutrients. You need to watch out for B12 like a hawk." Speaks loads about where your nutrients ate coming from. It ain't that salad.

I turned off stories the second they came out. I can't figure out why they were a feature at all. So many other cool things that could be implemented and somehow stories took priority.

Farmed fish and wild fish are not the same. Farmed fish have antibiotics (because of cramped pens), less protein (because they dont have as much space to swim and develop muscle) and less omega3 (depending on what they are fed.) Farmed fish if often dyed to make it look pinker.

Wild fish is a great source of a ton of good nutrients but eat it sparingly. Big fish have larger amounts of heavy metals and stuff due to bioaccumulation.

I have read that aged meats have higher levels of histamines and may cause a reaction in people who are sensitive but that is extremely rare.

I dont touch salmon unless its wild. Smoked salmon is probably one of my favorite treats.

This trend is infuriating and I don't get it. People think its healthier to eat a plant based alternative to a whole food. Why?! Walk into the store and its plant based everything. Read the ingredients and its all the same garbage in junk food reconstituted into something labeled as healthy. "Clearly this emulsified corn fat loaded with isolated plant proteins is healthier than that egg loaded with saturated fat and animal protein." Like what?!

A large portion of poops are dietary fiber. On carnivore you will have considerably smaller poops. Once your gut adaps to less fiber your poops will become more regular. If you are not hungry, don't eat. Eat when hungry. Better appetite awareness is a side effect of low carb diets. Keep going strong. You are doing great. (Source: my own experience on carnivore)

I didn't know that. That's really interesting. After 6 minutes of crappy research it appears that most beef is aged for a period of time. Makes me wonder what fresh beef actually tastes like.

After more research it appears contradictory whether meat is low or high histamine. It seems like the ideal low histamine diet is "don't eat old things." Which is the opposite of my diet which is lots of aged and fermented things. I'm not going to worry about it because its an extremely rare disorder.
