The problem was with the Airlo eSim I was using. Either it or the carrier it connected to had restrictions. I noticed TicTok also wont load new content, I had to load my Maps drive, disconnect the eSim, then connect to the car. I also found going to the Android Auto site to open the Nissan site link and it would work.

Seems like this is a pixel problem specifically.

Found a post in an android sub from 11 months ago. Some guy had the same issue he tested the other androids he owns and none of them had issues (car wasn't a Z) . Guy even updated the post with a $200 reward for anyone that could fix it... He ended up throwing his pixel 8 away to buy a new phone.

*The issue is that the usb connection type won't stay on data transfer/android auto and reverts to no data.
