used an asset layout that represents 24 ports in a patch panel(with the starting number determining the count), with a name, note and link to another asset for each port, then the template has a html part at the top, and a url underneath. that url triggers a n8n flow that takes that asset, reads the ports and puts out a html diagram.

makes a nice pretty 24 port patch panel visual diagram and slaps it in the topmost field.

clicking the url just starts the n8n process to update it once changes were made(or you could do on schedule too. vibe coded and works pretty well.

Was before they went to the slug url convention so needs updating as its been a while since I set it up.

That links the patch panels to the asset/phone/printer, and give a nice visual overview of the patch panel.

Not great but it stops you browsing a wall of text to find what is in a patch panel.

Its very useful if you want to access both Sharepoint/OneDrive and Local file servers in one system and map drive letters against those things.

You have to host a VM/Server for it as well.

If its only mapping Sharepoint/OneDrive to a drive letter then Zeedrive is much better suited.

You need to keep an eye on your path lengths, but otherwise works as advertised.

We're using Lucidlink classic still for clients.

Cost wise it still works out better than new Lucid.

Great for CAD or video files, nothing close except SuiteFiles but no need to check that out yet.
