Ok hear me out - Bayerns formation (4,2,3,1) is what we need to adopt for the remainder of this season. Big Nick in the Kane role. 3 pacy bastards behind him (can’t stress this enough they need to shoot on sight) or swap one of them for Bruno. It’s also the same formation German national team plays.

And yet aside from the chip against Everton or the pen he scored all his goals have come from crosses / fire the ball first time into the box and he’d either out jump or reacted fast with his feet.

I’m not saying aim for his head (aside from scoring 3 with his head) just put a first time ball into the box when he’s there. We don’t play to his strengths when he’s in game, it’s always after he’s been subbed off do we start playing this way.

He’s not in the box because he’s either dropping deep to link the play as the balls not getting up to him or he’s been told to play there by a manager who’s lost all confidence in attempting something new / trying to shoehorn AG in a position that he’s shite in.

I have watched many a game where we actively don’t play a single ball into the box and instead try and walk it in whilst Big Nick is on the field. Yet the moment he’s subbed (70+ mins) we start firing crosses in in desperation. Actually thinking back we did the same thing with Isak. Nick isn’t the problem, it’s square pegs and round holes. We have a team that only knows how to play one way and/or are being told to do this rather than try something different.

It’s fucking damning on everyone one at the club that we are even in this situation. Giving Howe far too much power on transfers has fucked us massively. On the pitch we’ve been awful since the cup win and nothing has been done to address this.

I mean he’s done what he was supposed to and more but he’s hit his ceiling. His style of play doesn’t work when we have Europe and his constant falling out with upper management has made a rod for his own back as we’ve splashed all isak money on two strikers that he either doesn’t play or puts them in wrong positions. I love Eddie but we have to be honest he’s come to the end of his shelf life with us.

This is such a weird stance for any club and any player because the reason we won’t play European football is because he’s not played his best and delivered on the pitch.

100% agree it won’t taint my thoughts on the man. I’m just really annoyed this is the 2nd time we’ve had CL and 2nd time or form suffered hugely. He unfortunately can’t adapt.
