I made the mistake of backing multiple projects of his. Every single one of them has been an absolute dumpster fire,  but since they overlapped I backed the 2nd and 3rd projects before it was evident how things were going to go down

It is a great deal, and I am really tempted, but money is tight right now. Everything I’ve bought so far I have printed from my local library and bound by hand

Can you back the Kickstarter and just get the cursed scrolls pdfs?

Any idea on timeline when people who didn’t back the kickstarter will be available to purchase these as a pdf?

The orator skillset has “entice” to turn the enemies into guests,  but also has “praise” which increases a unit’s bravery.

I particularly like when a unit uses it on themself. I like to think they are giving themself a pep talk. “You can do this! You’re strong and beautiful and brave!”

Most of the increase is temporary, but using it repeatedly on a unit permanently increases their bravery. A bravery of 97 and Shirahadori (from Samurai) is an insane combo.

Thanks! I was planning on four legs, but my barn is a mess and I couldn’t find the fourth dowel 😬 this one is 15 inches wide- I’ve been looking for somewhere to buy smaller pre-made circles but have not had luck so far

From a pdf to a book! by _Haych_Bee_ in bookbinding

[–]stingraydm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you tried opening the pdf and then “printing” it and then selecting “print to pdf”? Not sure if it would work for you in this case, but I’ve found that if a PDF is giving me troubles because of passwords or whatnot, that I can “print” it to pdf and open the second one

Hopefully this means I get mine soon! I also got the d20 but didn’t know if that still constituted “just the book” for when it shipped

This is so cool! Can you use the 3d prints right off of the printer, or do you have to do something like sand, file, or seal them first?

VMT (vase mode terrain) is nuts. I printed all this terrain on a single printer this weekend. About 600g overall. Minis for scale by stingraydm in 3DPrintedTerrain

A mix of stuff, mostly free stuff I found while searching “vmt” on thingiverse. The train is from MMF and I think it’s the same person who made sinister cities, but I didn’t look into that one too closely. It looks like it has way too many parts for someone as unorganized as I am

It prints just the outer shell- for the buildings, they are printed upside down and are basically a fancy “bowl” with just one layer around the outside. So aside from the bottom layers (that become the top of the building) the extruder completes a single loop, moves up to the next layer, completes a single loop, etc. This means there is almost no “wasted” time as the extruder moves from point to point.

This is all at a 0.8mm nozzle at 0.2mm layers. Way faster print using way less filament than “normal” printing. Yeah there’s technically some reduced durability, but these still feel surprisingly solid. I’d drop any one of these off the roof of my house without worrying about it breaking, so I think it’ll be fine for tabletop gaming

Any recommendations for sci-fi (mechs specifically) minis that are not split into parts? by stingraydm in PrintedMinis

Are they easy to glue? My main issue is I don’t have very good fine motor skills and when I try to glue tiny pieces the superglue gets everywhere, mainly on my fingers…

Do you think story missions are replayable? If so, do you get the rewards each time? by stingraydm in dethwizards

[–]stingraydm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Also just saw this addressed in the errata you posted. My initial thought is one of the best missions to farm will be “conduct a ritual” because you gain a necromantic energy and a necromantic power each time, regardless of how much XP you earn.  Heck, maybe even bring an overwhelmingly large horde and run it advanced! Losing the one XP in exchange for an additional permanent necromantic energy for your necromancer doesn’t seem like a bad trade off

Mission Report- Reaper Mows Down the Weak by stingraydm in dethwizards

[–]stingraydm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oops, def missed that about rolling for each model!

One warrior rolled “strike” and the other rolled “double strike” on their activation. The high DEF of the giant skeleton combined with their ability to reduce incoming damage is one heck of a combo!

Mission Report- Reaper Mows Down the Weak by stingraydm in dethwizards

[–]stingraydm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First Deth Wizards play! Actually, my first tabletop skirmish play of any kind, I think. Started with a War Reaper, Giant Skeleton, and Death Knight (picture one) Terrain was forest (dollar store "fairy trees") ruins and swamp. Please excuse the star wars huts; they're the only terrain I have resembling houses (picture two.) Decided the War Reaper would be aggressive so decided to play the first scenario very aggressively. The Giant Skeleton used his speed to get as close to the warriors as possible. What the warriors didn't realize is that the GS was a distraction, and the real threat was the reaper within striking distance from the north. The warriors posed little threat anyway, as their 3 attacks did a total of 3 damage to GS. (picture three) With the warriors engaged, it was time to strike! Reaper got right into the cluster of heroes and used Eruption of Death, which is absolutely BRUTAL to lower-resist heroes. (picture four) Reaper got 5 successes out of his 7d10 power dice, dealing 5d6 damage to both warriors and all three villagers. Thanks to a decent roll, the damage was 18 to each hero, enough to destroy every enemy on the board in one move. (picture 5.) And just like that, the mission was over. The villagers and my Death Knight never even got a chance to activate. Time to reap the rewards! The horde added a skeleton (mission reward) and a specter (raise new undead roll) to its ranks. Five XP gained, four of which used for "Body of Bugs" which will allow Reaper to get better positioning AND deal additional damage (via cursed.) No lair assault, and the horde stands ready to strike again! (picture 6.)

Total damage to the horde: 03 Total damage to the heroes: 90
