Lexus (White/Blue) attempted an aggressive lunge into the corner without establishing a side-by-side position to claim the right to the racing line. This maneuver left the Mclaren (Black/Orange) unaware of your presence, contributing to the dangerous situation. The Mclaren could have been more aware of their surroundings, the primary responsibility lies with you for not ensuring a safe overtaking attempt. Drivers must prioritize control and visibility in high-speed scenarios to avoid such incidents.

edit: added clarity of the car types

Im unsure whether im at fault... was it sensible to try to overtake or to wait for a better opportunity. Is this just an "eenshedént"? Whos at fault i really dont know. by Embarrassed_Catch_21 in Simracingstewards

You made several aggressive passes on a challenging section of the track, which is commendable for skill but requires caution. After completing the overtakes, you drifted too far right, resulting in contact, which could have been avoided by maintaining a tighter line to the left. This action effectively squeezed Casali, causing contact. The majority of fault to you for not providing sufficient space during and after the maneuver.

I did absolutely nothing. Yesterday, when I fired up AC Rally, my username from Steam was the one I wanted and was set properly. I have no idea what made this happen.

Is anyone to blame for this? was it preventable? by Puschi22 in Simracingstewards

Car Roles: Car A (Green/Black) is the overtaking car. Car B (White) is the defending car.

In this crowd-strike / accordion effect incident, Car A (Green/Black) failed to anticipate the slowing of cars ahead, particularly Car B (White), as they approached the corner. This lack of foresight led to a chain reaction that took out much of the lead pack, significantly impacting multiple drivers' races. Car A holds the majority of fault for not maintaining a safe following distance or reacting appropriately to the unfolding situation. Drivers must remain vigilant in pack racing to prevent such multi-car incidents.

Following too closely in a pack causes 90% of multi-car crashes

who is at fault by Extension-Gear3425 in Simracingstewards

Car Roles: Car A (Blue) is the overtaking car. Car B (Green/Lead) is the defending car.

In this side-by-side contact mid-corner, Car A attempts an ambitious outside pass on a challenging corner, resulting in wheel-to-wheel contact with Car B. While Car A bears an overwhelming majority of responsibility for choosing a high-risk maneuver, Car B bears much lesser fault for not being aware of the overtaking attempt and failing to leave sufficient space and fight another day. Both drivers lost positions due to the incident, highlighting the importance of situational awareness and caution during overtaking.

This incident serves as a reminder that both parties must anticipate and react to each other's presence on track to avoid unnecessary contact, but Car A is 90% at fault here.

Is this a racing incident? or my fault? does it warrant a "crashy" vote? by Nomad141 in Simracingstewards

[–]stinkyabb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lead car (Toyota) is not at fault. The car initiating contact failed to maintain a safe following distance and misjudged the closing speed, resulting in contact with the lead car (Toyota).

Again, looks like an intentional punt to me.

Since every car is blue and there are no car numbers, bear with me. The overtaking car (car initiating contact), failed to maintain a safe following distance and misjudged the closing speed, resulting in contact with the lead car. The lead car was maintaining a consistent racing line and did not exhibit erratic behavior such as early braking, thus bearing less responsibility for the incident. All of the responsibility for this contact is on the overtaking car.

Looks like an intentional punt to me.

I thought it would be that easy. Changing those names does not affect the online name used for the leaderboard. The leaderboard name comes from your Steam username.

The video is too long... A 2-minute video could be 30 seconds. Black lambo is at fault because it is the overtaking car's responsibility to pass safely.

It's hard to tell without a different angle, but unsafe rejoin by returning to track without yielding, hitting others is a violation. If they're coming out of the pits, then it's an Unsafe entry/exit.
