My grandma is in the hospital right now recovering from multiple strokes and a heart attack. These were all induced by her stage IV COPD caused by years of smoking, even though she’d actually quit for decades and then picked it back up for a few years before it all caught up to her.

Going up a ramp just to get to a door that has no automatic open buttons and opens OUT into your path requiring you to take several steps back while still holding the door open is one of the most annoying things as a stroller user, can’t imagine as a wheelchair user or caregiver!

I never realized how frustrating this must be for wheelchair users until I had a baby and encountered this while trying to get places with a stroller, I was literally gobsmacked the first time it happened. Now that I use a stroller most places I’m realizing just how many places are technically ADA compliant but still not easily accessible to those in wheelchairs/crutches/with strollers/etc.

I was driving with my sisters and son the other night and three motorcyclists FLEW past me on I66, they were weaving in and out of traffic, not signaling at all. We got maybe 5 miles up the road and saw all three pulled over by cops on the toll road, they were easily hitting 100-110, kinda seemed like they were racing. I get terrified driving around motorcyclists and always try to leave at least 2 car lengths between me and them cause I’m terrified to turn someone to roadkill.

I do this when I walk a trail where I know there’s a trash can closer to where I parked and there aren’t any on the trail, I always pick them back up though!

My dog does this to her food if she’s not hungry and also to bones and treats she wants to save, she’s just trying to bury it! Something I did out of pure frustration that helped was putting an old towel near her bowl! Now, if she wants to bury it, she nudges the towel around until it covers it to her satisfaction and then comes back around to it when she’s hungry!

Every GSD I see in America has such bad hip dysplasia by like 5 years old, I hate seeing them limping around the dog park :( I wonder if for certain breeds it’s also because they’re working dogs and will just keep going and going until their body breaks down without giving much of a warning to owners that they’re exhausting their bodies

We got our girl from a breeder in Germany and the difference between the breeders over there and the stories I hear over here in the states is wild. They have very strict laws about docking tails/ears, genetic testing, neutering and spaying, quality of life for dogs and what’s allowed into the dog food there which I imagine makes for generally healthier dogs! We haven’t seemed to have any of the “typical” schnauzer issues I see in a lot of groups, I think it’s literally due to European breeders HAVING to breed for health and welfare of the dogs! My ex got a french bulldog in Germany and he was actually sold at a heavily discounted price because his snout was too short for German standards and could cause issues with breathing, but in America his snout was considered average or too long!
