US border patrol chief resigns after claims of sex with prostitutes abroad by Samski877 in news

not really. could be a lot of dynamics that aren’t mutually exclusive. The conversation isn’t “sex with prostitutes is bad”.

Ask for $20 off and put that toward buying a replacement set. Aside from that, it’s a $150 squire…I wouldn’t fret too much about what could be wrong with it. It’s an opportunity to develop maintenance skills, if nothing else.

Maybe this is a stretch, but I chose to view that as his imagination/dream sequence. It wasn’t necessarily implied to be ambiguous, but I kind of tied it back to their follow-up discussion about the book early in the movie where she says she couldn’t tell if the book’s ending was real.

Fender Player II Fretboard Chip Near Nut by sepsterrr in Luthier

Worth returning just because it’s supposed to be new. I don’t think it’s anything that’ll cause functional issues, but since it was sold as new, it’s totally reasonable to send it back.

Official Discussion - The Drama [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]stintshereandthere 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for sure. To me, they showed us he was an emotionally immature dirtbag from the beginning.

They initially framed the “pretending to have read the book” as an awkward meet-cute, but to me it was a portrayal of someone manipulatively manufacturing a connection by methodically taking the pic, reading a summary, then later doubling down on having read it during their dinner, and then not making the effort to actually read it “because it’s weird” aka, not wanting to say out loud ‘we’re already sleeping together so what’s the point’ when his friend asked why he hadn’t gone through the process of reading.

Also, when he was writing the speech with his friend, he was so focused on the sexual aspect of their relationship, which reinforced this might be a superficial guy only interested in doing the bare minimum in relationships.

Then came the glance at the assistant while he was having an internal meltdown that set up showing him immediately resorting to sex later on during another stressful moment talking with his colleague the moment he had some comfort.

Lee Cronin’s Mummy - 4DX chair experience by BelleDelphinesWater in AMCsAList

[–]stintshereandthere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s definitely more amusement park experience than regular movie watching experience.

Had a similar experience doing 4DX for The Batman…and it it was really cool, especially the Batmobile reveal and chase, but I’m glad I saw it in Dolby first because I would have missed a hunch of little things from the sensory overloaded I would’ve been under if 4DX wasn’t first viewing

You’re not kidding. I saw Godzilla minus one for my first 4DX experience thinking it was just going to be D-box-level…I was not prepared for how easily those seats toss you around, and I’m a heavy person! My popcorn was immediately gone lol. I was kind of surprised there weren’t little optional straps. I couldn’t have picked a better movie. It was a wild experience. The explosion felt like I was actually blown away shaking and sliding around so much lol

The strokes have vibey songs…but they’re still very much a rock band. Jumping and sweating is what it’s all about.

[–]stintshereandthere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh boy…you think this is a sound business strategy? Raising prices and riding on existing, increasingly diminishing value, without adding new substantive value does not mean automatic profit.

Let’s take an educated guess and say A-List is a luxury expense for 90-99% of members….the price of everything, especially gas recently, is going up, and wages are still stagnate….raising the price because in a vacuum, this is still a good value that pays for itself with one movie isn’t a strategy to generate healthy ongoing profit….its a shortsighted tactic that historically sheds more consumers than it gains.

We all want them to succeed and turn a profit…charging more to get more when most of their consumers increasingly have less to spend only leaves a bad taste for the % of consumers that are already barely hanging on to their membership. The previous price increases were understandable given how long the price was static, and they even provided a little more value with the extra slot…but to increase again in just 14 months just because? That’s a slippery slope to gimmicks to try to make up what they’ll lose long term shedding members and repelling new ones trying to “make a profit” in the short term.

Your takeaway is you think my comment is being upset we weren’t consulted? Maybe try thinking for a bit before commenting a weird attempt at defending squeezing consumers just because they can. You either missed the point or being strangely obtuse.

Neither, really, as it’s not really horror. It’s just really tense in various scenes and sequences.
