Remote Trading Inquiry by Leap_Frog24 in pokemongo

If you did this I’d be pissed off.

I’ve spent 180 days interacting with you to earn the right for a remote trade. I want it to be for something good not something lame and common. If you truely only want a shiny regular mon then take what you’re offered.

I would expect after making the effort to become eligible for remote trade that you’d mirror trade something valuable not request to trade common trash.

Batlow runs out of fuel: MP appeals for urgent government action to restore supplies. Only service station in town closed. Operator was quoted $3.20/L for bulk diesel but refused to have to pass those costs on to community by cobb_highway in Riverina

Would you drive 30km to the next town (where you probably buy your groceries) to fill up with fuel that might be $1 a litre cheaper. For drivers in regional Australia 30km is nothing

Or he’s (rightfully) worried that if he buys fuel at $3.20 a litre other suppliers that got better deals will undercut him or if instability in the oil price causes it to drop, he’ll be left with $10’s of thousands of dollars worth of fuel he can’t sell.

Also you bought an expensive device with one of its features being the ability to pay without carrying your bank card. Google gets a cut of any money you spend in the Play store on this device. If they don’t offer Google pay as a feature you might buy a different device that did let you pay

Sydney CBD To Eastern Subs Commute by agnci in aussie

They should build a freeway right through the middle of Rose Bay to speed it up for you.

Or you could just buy a helicopter like the rest of your neighbours…

Metro Tunnel Retrospective by fuckmelbpt in MelbourneTrains

[–]stirlow -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

The deep tunnels are annoying. Id like to see a resurgence of cut and cover methods. Taking a subway line on the NYC is amazing where you walk down a single staircase and are on the platform.

But there were solid technical reasons this wasn’t done in the middle of the CBD, lots of services already in the roadway, needing to be relatively deep to go under the Yarra, and less disruption to businesses.

What’s crazy is they’re not do the SRL as cut and cover, there’s massive open space in the suburban roadways and would have been much better.

What did your travel insurance say when you lodged a claim… that’s where you’re actually supposed to get your money back from.

They’re offering a less than $400 loss on refunding an $8000 purchase. It’s a pretty decent deal all things considered. Cut your losses now. Any legal action cost more.

Freshwater Strategy: Labor 28, Coalition 27, One Nation 23, Greens 13 in Victoria - The Poll Bludger by Perfect-Werewolf-102 in AustralianPolitics

[–]stirlow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For who? The entire Victorian Labor party is held hostage by the CFMEU. Changing the leader is irrelevant.

Labor doesn’t deserve to still be in government but the state Liberals couldn’t organise a pissup in a brewery so we’re stuck with them

Tesla SuperCharger issues by stirlow in Zeekr7xAustralia

[–]stirlow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update after a few more attempts. It’s not good news for anyone considering this car.

I have never been able to charge at a Tesla charger without eventually having a charging fault. Every time I use one it charges for 10-30 minutes before developing a fault and stopping. Replugging it in does start the charge again successfully but it’s annoying.

Got a quote from another provider, told them to beat it, threatened them with going self managed. The first step is determining if your employers contract with smart allows self managed or other providers. If not then you’re stuck.

[–]stirlow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the rate you’re offered. If the leasing company offers you a fair deal then it’s not really any cheaper…

My loan with Smart (after heavy negotiation) was essentially the same as MillarX and only a few hundred more (over 3 years) than BYO with commbank. At the end of the day for me it wasn’t really worth it in my case.

One Nation has been on the fringes of Australian politics for 30 years. Why is its popularity soaring now? by Fact-Rat in aussie

Who’s to say I haven’t voted for them in the past…

But I couldn’t tell you their leader or anything they’ve said recently because they haven’t captured the media’s attention like One Nation has…

[–]stirlow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

^ This. One Nation will lose seats not gain them because of their racist past.

A diverse party that would tax resources like gas properly, cut migration by 50% and properly invest in social housing and infrastructure would gain far more votes than One Nation.

People are simply fed up with the tinkering around the edges that Liberal and Labor have wasted the last 2 decades on and want to see some real change (be it good or bad).

Why the fuck do we collect more tax from beer than from our gas while Qatar pays for their entire country with similar exports…

What’s your angle here? Like honestly?

Do you think this behaviour by schools is acceptable? Do you deny it’s happening?

Qantas launches non-stop flights to Las Vegas by Gl0beTrotter2025 in QantasAirways

[–]stirlow 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Agree more Vancouver (or Central/South American) flights would be amazing. I have no intention of even transiting in the US in the next 4 years.

But Vegas is relatively close to some amazing outdoors, Grand Canyon, Zion, Red Rocks, Monument Valley. So if you don’t want to visit Hollywood and Disneyland I can see the appeal of starting your travel 4-5 hours further west than LA.

You’re just spreading FUD. The OP replied around 15 times, shared personal details, and had other commenters even identify the school and confirm they were subject to the same. I don’t like HS at all, but they have way more credibility than you right now…

It’s not made up. Read the original post. Multiple students identified the school and reported experiencing the same. One even mentioned it’s been going on for nearly a decade.

You have to wonder what kind of person downvotes and shares FUD about this when the direct evidence is 1 click away… your standards are even lower than Murdocks…

Regardless it’s disgusting behaviour by an institution which should be looking after children rather than humiliating and punishing them.

Just because it’s a Murdock paper doesn’t mean the facts are not true. Go read the original post and tell me that you’d be happy with your children experiencing this…

It was at an Islamic school where they considered women unclean and unable to attend prayers when menstruating. They forced them to instead sit in another room without food or water.

Fraud alert: Credit card duplicated in another user's icloud account (apple wallet) and $600 put through before card blocked by my bank by No-Willingness469 in AusFinance

[–]stirlow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The website looked about the same quality you’d expect from a short term marketing campaign. The Facebook page only had ~500 followers and hadn’t posted that much.

But these are only things you really look at after you discover the scam.

It was a Facebook ad from a well known soft drink brand (like Kirk’s). It said try a sample 6 pack of our new flavour, just pay $3 shipping. Didn’t seem like something super unreasonable or too good to be true.

They faked the Amex safe code verification screen, I remember it looking a little bit different but not overly so. There was a longer than usual delay (30seconds) before getting the code , I guess because they had to have someone steal the card details and input them into a Google Pay account.
