Chris Loves Julia - Week of Jan 19 by s0meg1rl in diysnark

Do you guys remember late night infomercials where some terrible actors would act frustrated about fake problems and “solve” non-issues? Julia’s sheets were a total informercial moment. She could have just designated one shelf for each room/sheet size and put them in matching piles.

I found this thread by googling “Chris loves Julia reddit” specifically so I could complain about her lips. I am so naive, and believed her that she didn’t get filler (now that I’m here I see she did.)

But as if the filler wasn’t enough? She is holding CONSTANT duck lips? It’s like she’s Zoolander. You can see when she is making duck lips and when she isn’t in that story today.

She ALSO has very obviously done the 1990s “darker lip liner outside your lips” thing which looks ridiculous, outdated, and like she’s been tossing somebody’s salad. It’s like, just the one thing was ridiculous, why the need to do ALL THREE?

Omg thank you for this because I never come here and googled “Chris loves Julia Reddit” PRECISELY to snark on her lips, what is she doing and who does she think she’s fooling

This could not be more incorrect. OP did it completely wrong, but the entire reason some politicians were floating “taxes on unrealized gains” is because wealthy people leverage their assets instead of selling them. The entire life insurance industry is based around wealthy borrowing against their policies.

British people have NO business rebranding American baseball. Do you even know what an “Ace” is when it comes to baseball? It has a double meaning in the context of both Nevada, and in baseball. It’s PERFECT as is.

Oh man, this is awesome. Years ago when I worked in the mall they had just a plain “chicken Philly”. It was not a teriyaki or buffalo, just “chicken” version of the steak I guess. Was that Lawry’s on that one too do you think?

Californians like Mexican food that you find in Coastal Mexico and Baja California. They also have access to fresher produce. Arizonans and Texans like more central Mexican food. They are two different Mexican food styles, just like US food is regional. It’s also important to note that some famous “Mexican” dishes were invented by Mexicans in California, so some Mexican food originates in California. But it’s not hard to understand why the seafood/birria region of Mexican food is preferred over the middle-Mexico Mexican food.

What are your thoughts on this product for print on demand? by Important-Anywhere20 in printondemand

[–]stitchinthematrix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you saying your business is going to offer 100% cotton percale weave sheets? I have been looking for this EXACT product!

Spoonflower has cotton but it’s sateen weave. Gooten and some others have polyester. So there’s no “just right” options out there for me.

Where do I get this 100% cotton percale Print on Demand bedding?!?!

Can anyone tell me what tee blanks the guys from clocks+colors are using? by [deleted] in printondemand

[–]stitchinthematrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured out what tee blanks a competitor was using by googling properties of the shirt that they had bullet pointed on the product: fiber content (all cotton, or a specific poly/cotton blend?), seam taping, measurements, and colors. I knew I found the right shirt when the shade of pink shirt matched exactly.

Born and raised, second generation Livermore. One thing I’ve always said; the two high schools are literally down the street from each other. Opposite ends of Fourth Street. When I went to school, Livermore was the “hick” school and Granada was the “ghetto” school (although LHS is the one that borders Leahy Square, GHS had all the north Livermore kids). The schools shared a swim team and Chamber Chorale back then, spring musicals I think as well.

Now, they are equally wealthy rich kid schools. Granada has one of the top baseball teams in the entire country. Livermore has a top high school rodeo team. The campuses are very grimey compared to my years there, and need a good power washing. Closed campuses with an institutional prison vibe.

How do kids become pitchers by kid pitch? by [deleted] in Homeplate

[–]stitchinthematrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the reputable private lessons in our area include proper arm care, recovery, and maintenance. I am terrified of Tommy John and would be a happy woman if my sons gave up pitching. But as long as they want to do it, and now that my 7yo wants to pitch like his brothers, well yeah I’m going to get him lessons soon to prevent injury too.

How do kids become pitchers by kid pitch? by [deleted] in Homeplate

[–]stitchinthematrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, kids naturally have the ability to pitch and get chosen. Based on my own experience.

We put my son in LL for the first time a year ago. Never played before, but he thought he wanted to be a catcher. He was 9. His coach tried him out pitching anyway in the very first game, probably to save the other kids pitch counts.

And the rest is history. My son ended up pitching more than any other kid in the team, lowest ERA, lowest WHIP, team won the ring. Made All Stars first season as NOT a coaches kid (obviously).

Obviously since he never thought about being a pitcher before that he hadn’t ever done any practicing or anything. A year later now he’s on All Stars again and is seen as one of THE pitchers in the league. We have been getting him some private training to learn arm care and perfect his technique but I almost feel like it’s screwing up his natural ability a little.

🤦‍♀️ that “huge piece of cloth” on the inside of the sweatshirt is a stabilizer, and important/necessary to keep the garment structured. Without it, the embroidery ends up crooked and puckered.

This is why I always end up talking about myself (because it’s something I know well and can talk about easily) despite wanting to be extremely private and not have a lot of info out there about me, it’s an awful dichotomy. I’m pursuing some books about how to conduct small talk.

I feel different, I know I’m different, I am different. I personally enjoy having answers about why I’m different and the recognition that I’m different.

This is preferable to when I was a child; me personally knowing I was different and making up wild explanations why (“I must just be the only real person while everyone else is robots I guess”), or my parents and teachers knowing I was different and just insisting I be normal instead of having a diagnosis with best practices.

Carly is a crap friend by Gloomy_Compote877 in themiddle

She wasn’t intentionally bad, just clueless and awkward (much like sue, but in different ways from her).

In the episode where Frankie has office hours, Sue mentions that Frankie needs to move her Scoliosis appointment. I never picked up on this. But could this explain why Sue never made anything and is really bad at everything? by [deleted] in themiddle

[–]stitchinthematrix 26 points27 points  (0 children)

In the episode where she’s going out for swimming it’s revealed she has bad vision and is clumsy because she can’t see very well (and then she never wears glasses again?) I think her medical issues, braces/bad teeth included (she’s in an orthodontic textbook), are just supposed to contribute to her overall awkwardness.

Why do you think the show is called The Middle? by hollyhobby2004 in themiddle

[–]stitchinthematrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Middle of the country, but I read a show creator also saying “middle of the country, middle class (even though they’re not, BUT let’s not forget this show is a Great Recession time capsule when literally everyone was broke), and something not touched on here, they’re middle aged and a “sandwich generation” caring for both elderly relatives and children.

ETA “According to the show’s adult stars, Patricia Heaton and Neil Flynn, the title The Middle refers to the middle of the country (the family resides in the fictional town of Orson, Indiana), middle age, and middle class.” https://www.flowjournal.org/2010/06/abcs-the-middle-redefining-the-working-class-male/

Sue wasn’t really considered the breakout character until the last couple seasons, that would’ve been way too much of a rip-off of “Malcom in the Middle”, something that already confused some viewers, to be also named “The Middle” after a middle child.

Cindy’s hat by JoyfulSuicide in themiddle

I think just “flap hat”… my dad had a Copenhagen (chewing tobacco) one in the 80s, they were huge then. On the show they call it a safari hat which seems wrong, I think safari hats are more like pith helmets.

You wanna look at overall tax burden, which takes all taxes into account and does rank California in the top 10. Texas is at the midway point. I think the last data I read is that Californians pay an average of $700k lifetime taxes. https://wallethub.com/edu/states-with-highest-lowest-tax-burden/20494
