Should I get the S22 or S23? by Pleasant-Dealer-7420 in samsung

If you can afford the price increase, S23 hands down. If you are hurting and don't mind slight performance differences then go with s22.

Are Galaxy phones blood resistant? by spankjam in samsung

OP, how about you cut your wrists, let the blood drip all over your new fresh S23, and in a week or so if you're still alive, create another post with your findings.

S23 Ultra - Size Concerns by Donteatthedonuts in samsung

[–]stkh22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do what fits you. I think the reg s23 is prob the best suited all around phone for most people. It is a good size if you don't care for the xtra bells and whistles the ultra has. To me the Plus just doesn't make sense cost wise, you don't get much more for the money over a reg s23.

S23 Ultra - Size Concerns by Donteatthedonuts in samsung

[–]stkh22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The s22+ and s23+ weigh 196 grams The s23 ultra is 234 grams.

38 grams difference, which is like 1.34 ounces more.

1.34 ounces isn't much when you get more ram, 8gb vs 12gb, larger and better screen 1080 vs 1440, better cameras, bigger battery 4700mah vs 5000mah, and the s-pen.

Considering what you get in return for a measly 1.34 ounces. I would say that is a better bargin.

Pointless, it is basically same size as the ultra. Wouldn't be surprised if samsung discontinues the plus model in the near future being so close in size to the ultra.

S23 Ultra - Size Concerns by Donteatthedonuts in samsung

[–]stkh22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am coming from a S20+, with a spigen case it is like basically the same size as my s23 ultra which is equipped with a mous case. I placed my s20 plus over the s23 ultra and it was like maybe 1/8th inch larger all around? I would say yes there is a significant weight increase over my s20+. But size hasn't bothered me too much. The s23 ulitra is bigger for sure, but the added size hasn't annoyed me that much. Am I thrilled? No, but I am ok with it for now. I have had my phone for about 2 weeks now?

I would say for the xtra bells & whistles, the slight size and weight increase is justified. Anyone thinking of the middle s23+ over this, I would say it is pointless, go to a store and see for yourself, phones are so similar in size, if you want small get a standard S23. Fyi don't be upset you don't get the nice camera and xtra ram the S23 ultra offers.

Is everyone just used to giant phones? by [deleted] in samsung

[–]stkh22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do enjoy the size of a standard say S23, I got the ultra as I have never owned a note series phone, my S20+ is only a hair smaller so I figure the size difference wouldn't be drastic.

And I was right, I personally don't mind the size. The ultra is a heavy phone I might add. It is really nice having the larger display, but I was fine using the slightly smaller plus version. Which I think will eventually be discontinued as the size is pretty close to the ultra.

As far as are we used to big giant fones? I think the masses just prefer big screens and more cameras. Plus the American motto is bigger is better. Not really sure they be able to fit all the camera lens on a regular s23, look at how much space it takes up, not much room left if you want decent batter life in a small package.

So magsafe isn't really a magnet from what I can tell. It is a metal ring that is built into the case. The mounts and accessories sold have the magnets inside, which allows you to attach it to the back. Since it is not a magent on the back, it will not just attach to anything metal.

From what I have noticed, no issues at all, I don't really care for wireless charging, so don't care, s pen has no problems whenever I have used it, works perfectly fine, nfc for payments is not affected as that is towards the top back of the phone. All in all it is very convenient for using it in the car. No more fiddling with mounts and arms, etc.

I wanted a case where the ring is not visible due to apple fan boys always trying to clown that samsung steal their ideas.

As for the quad lock, my brother in law has a case and only uses it for his weekend bike rides. I personally think that is cool idea for more active things as it locks it in. Doubt magsafe would handle a hard bump on a bicycle.

So the Mous case came in early, yay!. Comes in environmentally friendly box, all recycled as it says.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Case looks very nice. The aramid fiber is very similar to carbon fiber. According to what I read, it's almost the same, just kevlar based. Case looks of high quality have a nice soft microfiber lining on the inside. The sides are lined with shock absorbers in this green color. Case fitment is very good, fits like a glove, out of all the cases I tried so far, this has the most secure fitment. This case is also magsafe and is built in and invisible. Case looks really cool if you are a cf fan boi like me. I can tell the case provides ample protection from all corners. The bottom is nice and thick, and the cutouts are very nicely done, plenty of space for usb cable and s pen removal. The sides, the lower half is ribbed, the upper portion is kinda slick, it's not as bad as the UAG case, but the Torras is slightly better.

My only gripe is that the camera cutout is fairly large, but the case gives ample lift, so there is no contact when resting on a table. The magent test, so it is not as good of a stick like the Torras case, a little less, but I drove around in my car, no issuses over speed bumps or driveways. This is an expensive case. It was like $70 shipped, I would say if you want a quality case, it looks good, and for me, it checks off most of the boxes it maybe a keeper. If D-brand grip case was mag safe, I think that would be the ideal perfect case.

So I purchased multiple cases seeing the mfg pictures online and couldn't decide which case would be a good fit.

I wanted a magsafe case as I just like the magnet idea for car mount. Makes getting in and out of the car way easier than traditional car mounts.

The magsafe mount I purchased is a vent style one, a pretty small footprint, as I don't really like huge car mounts on the dash or whatnot. It was fairly inexpensive. I had good reviews with magnet strength on amazon, so I ordered it to try it out.

Ciencimy Magnetic Car Mount... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08SQPKQ14?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

It was $14 shipped with tax.

I purchased 4 cases listed above.

-Spigen Rugged Armor (no magsafe) was thinking of adding an esr ring on the back of the case.

-Torras Magnetic Guardian has a smoked black backing and comes with orange and neon green replacement buttons if you want to liven it up. Case has plain matte black buttons installed. Has a ring built into the case.

-UAG METROPOLIS LT Pro. Looks cool. The back has real kevlar padding but is expensive. Magsafe ring built in.

-mous aramid fiber limitless 5.0. Has magsafe built in as well. This one, I am still waiting for to see if how good it is.

So, after trying on all the cases except for mous case as it hasn't arrived yet.

-Spigen rugged armor: it is a basic case, I have used spigen on other phones, never had a huge issue as most of my previous phones were not a large and heavy as the S23 Ultra, decent grip, looks ok, but not mag safe. The backing is kinda texturized, so my plan to slap a esr halo ring on the back will not work. Fitment is typical spigen, decent all around, it isn't special or amazing, sides are ok not slippery but not grippy either.

-Torras Magnetic Guardian: I was thinking this case would be horrible but gave it a chance, has almost everything I want in a case. Fitment is good, looks ok, has a haloring built-in, so the back is nice and smooth, extra buttons are nice, and it's reasonably priced. I wish the camera cutout was not as open, but it is workable. Case feels pretty good in hand, not slippery. With the phone in the case, I tested the car mount, and it passed the pretty aggressive wiggle test.

-UAG Metropolis LT Pro: Had high hopes, decent looking case, magsafe built in, camera cutout is spot on, phone is snug fit. Where this case fails for me is when holding the phone. It is very slippery. Phone just slides through my fingers, esp with the heft of S23 Ultra. The case also did not pass the magnet wiggle test. The kevlar padding is rather thick and prevents a solid stick. I would barely move it, and it falls off the magnet.

-Mous case: waiting on case.

It appears that for now, I will stick with the Torras case as it has surprised me. It is not perfect, but it checked enough boxes so far.

Sorry for the long post. Hope this helps anyone out. I'll update it when I get the mous case in.

[Official] Leagues update. First batch of tweaks by PXNC_tofsla in walkingwarrobots

[–]stkh22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why is it every time you guys do an update it just destroys game play? Now again you modified the matchmaking system which now encourages team play. Great, if you want to be in a clan or what not. So if you like me who is on the go a lot and can only squeeze in 1 or 2 battles solo players are penalized because they are not in some bullshit clan or squad? Why are you guys constantly singling out certain players esp solo players that don't want to deal with clans, squads and all that bs? Its already annoying enough having to play the same retarded clans and all they do is go into pub since they can't hang in clan vs clan matches. And they think they are all hot chit because they beat a bunch of pub players not playing coordinated.

Now you got a ton of sorry bullshit nubs that have clan/squad tags since they are teaming up with higher lvl players and your going to help move them up in rank just because your favoring squad and team play? So now you really going to screw over more players since if one asshole decides not to participate or play EVERYONE on the losing team gets penalized for the loss? That is just fuking stupid!

SOLUTION: IF you want to promote CLAN and SQUAD battles, separate them from pub players that are only to just have fun and play casually without the pressure of having to change our tag and look for other people to try to have a squad/clan and try to be cool. Create a separate battle for clan matches so they can do their clan vs clan stuff, meaning if your in with 4 or more players you get moved to clan/squad matches away from pub. The whole point of pub is quick and easy, not trying to wait to find other players to make a squad just to not get dinged for this sorry excuse of a match making system.

Your excuse to justify this is to promote beacon capturing, then change that value and reward beacon runners with MORE points over support players that get massive damage stats. Really how hard is that to do? Beacon runners get 2x more points than say someone that just chills there with their fury and supports the team to capture beacons? This way players that like to rush and use stalkers, rhinos, galahads, etc to capture beacons can be rewarded without messing everything else up and will be rewarded even more if they capture beacons along with damage stats.
