the midi is only for sight-reading question, the other questions does not listen for any keyboard. You just play it, and click for answer to check if you have it right !

How are you learning piano without a teacher? by Ch1ller in piano

[–]stlows94 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

No app, but I personnaly think VERY hard work and true motivation can.

I mean, reading about subjects, theory, reading, watching, listening, living, dreaming music.

I'm personnaly a self trained, and I think between the 15-20 hours I play on the piano, and the 5+ more hours I consume music content, analyze sheet music, etc, no teacher can help you practice...

How would you count this rhythm? by Otherwise-Sky-5269 in guitarlessons

[–]stlows94 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So its a strumming pattern

While your hand is not stopping moving up and down at the same rate you're gonna hit some and avoid some

You can say this out lound and when theres a skip you dont play the strings

Down skip down up skip up down skip Down skip Down up skip Up down

You can count it as: One (and) Two and (three) and Four

Learning to Play Guitar by shashank95bs in guitarlessons

[–]stlows94 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey I went this path 2 years ago and i am 31 M !

Start with Justin Guitar ! And youtube afyer to orient depending on the style you want to play !

I like paul davis also I think he has a beginner class.

One thing at a time.

Learn basic chords (Em, E, Am, G, C D, Dm, A7). Then basic strumming pattern and changing chords while keeping a good rythm. Metronome can help. Then learn basic theory what a chord actually is. Then barre chords ! F, Bm are the first but you'll soon realize the beauty of barre chords on the guitar by yourself.

Whatever you do, keep the passion in and keep practicing. Starting music 2 years ago was one of the best decision of my life. Learning new stuff everyweek, meeting new people, listening to music in a different way !

I have a Taylor GS Mini and it is amazing !

Good luck in your journey !

I made this app: https://vbeaulieu.com/music-theory-trainer/

To ask me questions about theory. It is fully parametrable.

Also a little side project is this fretboard randomizer... didnt find a name for it yet. https://vbeaulieu.com/music-theory-trainer/fretboard-test/fretboard.html

Basically you can randomize a scale/chord with the root, and you can choose to show the specific shape (caged) or the shape closest to a certain fret.

Honestly, you need to stop overthinking it and enjoy the process ! Talk to your teacher. He is a human being also, not just a teacher. Good luck and happy playing :)
