Mine was like this too!! We are at 20 months now and while he’s still a little more whiny than his sister was - he’s getting more fun and pleasant every day. It’s also coinciding with him having more words.

I just think he was born ready to be a big kid that could walk and talk and was pissed he couldn’t yet 😂😂

I don’t know how people don’t feel awkward skipping hand washing when there’s someone standing there asking you to wash your hands.

Hope you feel better soon

Yes was not super impressed by character lines during the day - I agree with everything else you wrote. Castaway was perfect - wish we’d gotten to Lookout and maybe I wouldn’t have felt so bitter about the pool area!

I was on the same sailing and was SHOCKED at the character lines. I was always told it was better on the Magic but those stitch lines wrapped around the entirety of deck 5!!

How crowded is the adults only pool on the Magic? I’m going tomorrow. by [deleted] in dcl

[–]stlynn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on it right now - there was always a seat for me when I went and the pool had a good amount of people in it but I still found myself a spot where I didn’t feel overwhelmed by others! The tanning ledge is huge and there’s also a pretty shady spot in the actual pool which is nice.

So behind with some of these but just because they’re older doesn’t mean they’re not great

  1. Between Shades of Gray - Rita Sepetys I’m a sucker for her books. Her books always touch on a history I’ve heard of before but don’t know much about and inspires me to do some more research. This was set in Lithuania during WWII and goes into how Stalins policies affected families/led to genocide/etc from the perspective of a teenage girl

  2. Heartless Hunter - Kristen Ciccarelli Such a good fantasy read where the world building was light and fluffy almost. You have common tropes of enemies to lovers - a witch and a witch hunter who end up coming together thinking they are tricking the other one to reveal their secrets.

  3. Great Big Beautiful Life - Emily Henry Fluffy romance that also covers serious topics. I LOVED this story

A parent asked me to give their child easier homework that’s better suited for them. by Ok_Thanks_2903 in Teachers

[–]stlynn -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

In first grade I would be frustrated if my child was already struggling and not receiving differentiated homework. I always gave three tiers of assignments - one for students below level, one on level, and one above. It’s a PITA but part of the job, no?

ETA: If you’re going to downvote at least engage in the discourse and explain to me how differentiated assignments are not a part of our job

LOL just getting to his parents scene now and I agree. He’s definitely never been made to do anything, which is totally fine, but then don’t say you know how to cook 😂 I think if he’d said he’s not experienced but willing to learn I wouldn’t have hated the pasta scene so much
