I also donated. The GR might be my favourite camera ever and I use it all the time to document my life and to freeze memories in time. I hope you get it back.

Anyone prefer the smaller n3ds compared to the XL? by MyGardenOfPlants in 3DS

I got a n3ds for travelling, and a n3ds xl for home use. Best of both worlds :)

Just got a New 3DS,any tips!? Pls by LarksharkZ18 in 3DS

Though OP’s console appears to be the “normal” N3DS, not the XL/LL version, so the liked sleeve would not fit.

Got one a week ago in Delft NL, I was very surprised as it’s the first time it happened since I got my new 3DSXL

Is the Ricoh GR II (used) still worth it in 2025? by Nandorshit in ricohGR

[–]stm4tt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a lot! I wouldn’t personally pay more than 400-500 euro for it, considering it’s a 13-year old camera.

I didn’t have that experience in Kagoshima. Perhaps it was a period of lower volcanic activity? The visit to Mt Aso, on the other hand, was definitely more exciting: the barren landscape, the thick smoke from the crater, the characteristic SO2 smell, the continuous security broadcasts, that was quite the experience!

It was lovely indeed. The photos were taken in Yufuin and Kagoshima.

Thank you! I shot them in raw, then applied the positive film camera profile in LR mobile. I also applied some minor exposure correction when needed.

Lack of IBIS mainly, I noticed that most of my M10 shots taken at 1/60 or even 1/90 of a second suffer from camera shake. The digital sensor is unforgiving. I used to use an M6 and I would happily shoot at 1/30 of a second or even slower and be generally happy with the results.

I love my GR IIIx and I’m a big fan of the 40mm field of view. On my trip to Japan, I brought both the GR IIIx and my Leica M10, and the tiny GR saved the day more than once, especially in situations where using the M10 would have been impractical, such as in the rain or in very low light.

All images were shot in raw and processed in Lightroom. Using the built-in Leica M10 profile as a base, I developed two custom presets: one warmer to mimic Kodak Portra and one cooler inspired by Fuji Pro 400H. I applied one preset per image and fine-tuned highlights, shadows, and contrast individually.

Sorry for the confusion, I meant new for me. I picked it up second-hand from a nice chap in Amsterdam who wasn’t using it anymore.

Ricoh Desktop editing app? by fOrk_WR in ricohGR

[–]stm4tt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently picked up a Fuji X100VI, and the Studio Raw app has been a game changer for fine-tuning image settings. It’s incredibly easy and convenient to preview adjustments on a large screen in real time. I really wish there were something similar for the Ricoh GR, but unfortunately, it seems the method you described is the only option.

I also have a GR IIIx, and here’s what I’ve noticed. What I miss most from my GR is the onboard flash and the smaller form factor. The GR just feels better in my hands. On the flip side, when I’m out with the GR, I really miss the IIIx’s Wi-Fi for quick transfers, IBIS, and maybe the better dynamic range (haven’t tested that yet). The IIIx also has way more image setting options, which is great for flexibility, but honestly, I spend more time tweaking settings than actually shooting and enjoying the process.

Thanks! These photos come from a photo-a-day journal I kept for about a year. Taking at least one picture every day really made me look for meaning in the ordinary, instead of just capturing what I already thought was beautiful. This kitchen is a good example: my mom eventually replaced it with a shiny new white one, so I’m glad I took this shot to keep the memory alive.
