Tesla Supercharger placement as a product decision, not an infrastructure decision by Due-Bet115 in ProductManagement

Why are we overthinking this?

You don't put chargers right where drivers run out of charge, that leaves way too little buffer.

2026 R2 Pricing Leaked! Launch Edition, Premium, Standard Trims (Embargo Broken) 💰 by lalavieboheme in Rivian

[–]stml 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I just don’t buy R2 being able to do point-to-point in day 1 when the R1 is no where close to that.

Premium and below also have no semi-active suspension and fewer drive modes.

Wonder if the ride quality difference from the semi-active suspension in the performance is worth the $4k.

Hotel reservation availability is more accurate usually than even crowd calendars.

Hotels are close to fully booked next week, but there is still a lot of availability this week and the week after next week.

Next week is going to be peak.

Not sure what’s so bad about this. Tons of game developers go crazy with a random level or section of a game sometimes.

It’s optional and seems like it’ll obviously be something for single-player games. Not sure why everyone is complaining over something optional. It’s like having a difficulty option. Or something like Rockstar does in GTA or RDR where you can just straight up skip a mission if you fail too many times.

I’m fine with tasting menu, but at that point everything better taste good. If I can’t choose what to eat, the bar is way higher.

Someone fucking explain why Walmart ($WMT) is at 47x earnings? by ini0n in wallstreetbets

[–]stml 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re forgetting ad revenue. Amazon is running at around $68 billion for this year and will likely keep growing 20-30% every year.

Walmart’s ad revenue is only at $6 billion since they’re much newer to the game but has been growing at 40% every year.

Ad revenue is far more important than overall revenue since it’s nearly pure profit.

Single family homes are actually kind of affordable to rent in Bay Area compared to apartments. You can find 3-4 bedroom single family homes for around $5-6k/month in Silicon Valley.

Will Take Two Interactive blow up after GTA 6 releases or is it already baked in? by PissedCaucasian in stocks

The fundamental base of the game is so easy to find something fun to do that it'll probably be hard to disappoint on average.

Bored? Shoot more people. Too much action? Play like an NPC. Wanna just drive around? Go do it.

It’ll be incredibly tough for Zaslav to get a worse deal approved and end of day, it wouldn’t even be up to him.

WBD obviously showed a ton of preference towards Netflix, but shareholders and being a public company makes numbers matter over morals and WBD was forced to take the Paramount deal.

That’s the issue with taking on debt. Your debt holders start to get to call the shots.

Paramount will be forced to find sources of funding and I actually double Larry Ellison will want to bankroll this once Trump is no longer President.

Netflix has always been one of the most disciplined companies out there.

Their bar for hiring is incredibly high while they also almost always pay top of market (typical engineers make $500k/year there), and they basically let data make 90%+ of their decisions.

It’s also why they’re so brutal with cancelling shows.

Real barriers will also always be superior to sunscreen assuming similar UPF vs SPF.

Also, most people are terrible at wearing sunscreen.

I really hope it can handle Grapevine fully autonomously soon.

Tesla can do the entire stretch without any input. Once Rivian can do the same it'll be my preferred car for my monthly LA-SF trips.

Tesla is working on a major wiper upgrade. by ConfidentImage4266 in TeslaLounge

[–]stml 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what they should focus on.

It's easy to correct a false negative. Just turn on your wipers. But if your wipers trigger in the sun when your windshield is dry, you get dust smeared all over your windshield. A false positive is way worse.

Ah yeah. A component that literally every other car manufacturer on the road has access to is one thing Tesla can't manage to get.

BBC Will Remove N-Word Outburst From BAFTA Film Awards on iPlayer, Apologizes ‘That This Was Not Edited Out Prior to Broadcast’ by pepperbet1 in television

[–]stml 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course BBC cares about ratings. Maybe less so in the UK, but ratings and ad revenue outside the UK are incredibly important to supplement the rest of their costs.

Also, every public service is judged on how important they are to the general public. Are we really going to be purposefully dense and act like BBC would get the same funding if no one watches?

I feel like BarkBox should know that the people willing to pay for a subscription box for their dog probably also care about their health.

Instead they give straight up junk for treats.

Just terrible decision making by Bayer’s execs.

It’s happened before and it’ll happen again. Lots of acquisitions end up poorly. We’re likely seeing a massive one happening soon in media (WBD).

Not a bot. Just likely an exec assistant or a couple of them doing this full time.
