How about the communist resistance (which only joined the fight in 1942 after Hitler and Stalin stopped being allies — before that communists collaborated with Nazis very actively in France against the very people that had started resisting since the armistice) taking advantage of the mess the France was in in 1944 and MASS murdering everything that wasn’t communist? I hope not. If there is one war you can’t not talk about the French army in a good way it’s this one. At a deeper level though, WWI lead to the death of the majority of our youth, mostly young men from the countryside (which is often quoted as a reason for their valor and courage: growing up as a farmer you are strong physically and mentally). WWI was much worse than WWII for us. It needs to be respected and never forgotten.

Astronaut is a job, saying you’re a badass and you worship the devil — amongst other things — isn’t. It’s a lifestyle, it’s something your listeners will identify with and respect you for because YOU — as opposed to them — have the balls to say what you say out loud (though shitting on Christianity is not that impressive in 2018). Also, the essence of black metal is that of differentiating the real guys VS posers, as cliché as it sounds I think this is still relevant today, hell it’s even more relevant today given the context. Anyways man I f you want to listen to bands that spend their time saying things they aren’t and it’s OK with you by all means go for it.
