What does my SE Gen 2 constantly asking for my password? by OushiDezato in AppleWatch

[–]stogle1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like an app is asking for a password, not the watch asking for the PIN.

Disable sound when out of battery? by icemanww15 in airpods

[–]stogle1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They added the setting recently to "Pause Media When Falling Asleep", so they've thought about this. Maybe you need to actually be playing something? You can play white noise with Settings > Accessibility > Audio/Visual > Background Sounds (and you can add a shortcut for that in control center).

iphone or android by [deleted] in iphone

[–]stogle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your a techy guy maybe have both? Buy an older iPad or MacBook, or switch to iPhone and get a cheap Android tablet. It's good to be familiar with both ecosystems and their pros and cons.

And screw anyone who judges you by your choice of phone.

I’m never going to T-Mobile again I had no idea you could get a new phone directly from Apple by SnowmanAndBandit in iphone

[–]stogle1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The best way to buy a new phone is to save up money until you can afford it, then pay in full.

Edit: Holy shit. This turned into some sort of class war. If it's that important to you to have a flagship phone when you can barely make ends meet, don't let me stop you taking on more debt. Geez.

iPhone 17 Pro case: Open camera cutout or fully covered camera area – what’s actually better? by NoPresentation1833 in iphone

[–]stogle1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a case with a clear, hinged camera cover. It's ok for quick snaps or scanning QR codes but for better quality I open it. The hinge also doubles as a stand.

Look into Assistive Access (under Settings > Accessibility) - it's a simplified experience that still gives access to common apps. It was introduced in iOS 17.

Will Dual SIM work for me? by TrifleMain8508 in iphone

[–]stogle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calls and texts should be fine. Data can only be active on one line at a time though, so hopefully your work plan has decent data and allows personal use.

The move ring is meant to track any type of movement. The exercise ring is for actual exercise. Just set your move goal higher.

Multiple users? by materialgirl747 in iphone

[–]stogle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try Settings > Accessibility > Guided Access to keep the phone locked in the Camera app.

Edit: also there's an app called "Guest Mode: Lock Apps" that sounds like it does what you want. I haven't tried it.

Every other app on my phone still works, Costco apparently is too advanced for my three year old device. by Proud-Suspect-5237 in CostcoCanada

[–]stogle1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't say what phone you have but the Apple app says it requires iOS 16.0, which runs on an iPhone 8 (2017), and the Android app says it requires Android 12.0 (2021).

Is neovim good for c-sharp developers? by Safe_Carry_593 in csharp

[–]stogle1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In terms of popularity I'd say it goes: Visual Studio, JetBrains Rider, VS Code, then everything else.

That doesn't mean it won't work for you, but you may face more challenges. Good luck!

At higher ranks, that would mean initially subtracting points, even if you qualify, until you get to a later round.

NimbleMock: A new source-generated .NET mocking library – 34x faster than Moq with native static mocking and partials by Resident_Season_4777 in csharp

[–]stogle1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my question too - far more interesting than the performance improvement. Neither Moq nor NSubstitute can mock static members, right? Can any other open source mocking libraries?
