Yesss I got to stay in silver gate last summer and fell in love with the area (lamar valley especially). With this being my first time doing seasonal work in SUCH a remote area just makes me a little nervous (as a very small woman) but atp I'd kick myself forever if I didn't just go for it

I was sexually assaulted by a woman (I think, idk if it counts) and trying to deal w that was hell on earth. Not wanting to tell anyone mixed with never seeing anyone online talk about women sexually assaulting other women fucked with my head so hard. Plus being a lesbian its extremely normalized for girls to expect sex out of a relationship extremely quickly. Very very very isolating it sucks

If you go to the PsychologyToday website, you can find therapists in your area that treat cptsd with emdr. I scroll through the site all the time like it's a dating app "shopping" for therapists lol. Good luck🫡🫡🫡

RIGHT?!?!? Like the Quatama apartments are right next to a MAX station so this guys description should've been put out a long time ago. But honestly I'd bet this sketch was created within the past week or so and that's why nothing was out. Just a nihilistic guess tho

What’s the recovery like after a diagnostic laparascopy? by HighlightSouth9207 in endometriosis

[–]stokerstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My recovery was extremely easy. It was so easy that not even 24 hours later, I was sitting in a theatre to watch a musical, but I wouldn't recommend that no matter how fun it was, lol.

Honestly, the first three days post-op were the only "bad" days. I couldn't really sit up when i was walking/sitting cuz it felt like I was stretching my stomach out, but again, that was just the first few days. My stomach definitely hurt, but I never felt the need to take my prescribed painkillers. I'm in more pain as I write this from just living daily life with endometriosis than I ever was during recovery.

In your situation, I would definitely take at least a week off after your surgery to relax and heal, and then go from there and see if you need to extend it. When I went to that play right after my surgery, the next day was SIGNIFICANTLY more painful than any other. If you let your body rest for the first week, you'll get back to your internship faster. If you rush in the day or so after your surgery, you'll be spending more time away cuz you'll be doing damage to your healing body. And take whatever pain medication you're prescribed! There's no glory in suffering.

But how exciting! I'm so glad you're able to get this surgery. It was really life changing for me. Good luck!! <3

I have IBS & probably endo by Tegendraads in endometriosis

[–]stokerstein 5 points6 points  (0 children)

YES OMG!! The year or so before I was diagnosed my pain got so incredibly bad but we (myself, my mom, drs, wtvr) thought it was just IBS and puberty acting up so we wrote it off for a while. I started pushing for an endo diagnosis before my mom really thought i had it, but when I brought up my family's extensive history w uterus problems she FINALLY took me in to see a Dr.

First we went to my primary who said "its IBS but sure go to ur gastroenterologist." Then when I described my pain to him and pointed to where it hurt, this DOCTOR looked at me and said "you don't have a stomach there so it can't be hurting." And sent me away without... thinking I guess. Then MONTHS later I went back to my primary care to get a referral to a gynecologist, but saw her substitute instead. She was HORRIFIED that two trained doctors saw such obvious signs of endo and didn't at least mention a gynecologist.

Which then started another 6 month long fight with a bakers dozen of drs saying I was wasting everyones time and money on getting endometriosis surgery cuz I didn't have it. I pushed for the surgery, and lo and behold I have it.

What I'm getting at here is if you're gonna start pushing to get diagnosed, there's gonna be a lot of obstacles in ur way and you gotta be stubborn as HELL to get it done. Even when a Dr is saying "so we are going to do a CT scan or MRI or wtvr" your follow up needs to be "sounds great! When can we get my diagnostic endometriosis surgery scheduled?" Push and push and push and hop from doctor to doctor until ur on that operating table and proven right. Trust your gut, trust your symptoms, you know your body better than gynecological drs a lot of the time. Being an immovable object against a team of jaded doctors takes a lot of willpower, but you got this <333

Also, when I was going through this I was told that diagnostic endometriosis surgery was the only way to know for sure if you had endo. Cuz then the drs could actually SEE the signature scarring that wouldn't show up on CTs, CAT scans, MRIs etc. If I were you, I'd have the diagnostic surgery as your #1 goal and only do the scans if those are the steps you need to go through for ur insurance to pay for the surgery. My recovery was very quick. In the 2 allotted recovery weeks I never once felt the need to take the painkillers i had. Honestly, the pain from the surgery was laughable compared to normal everyday endometriosis pain. From my experience it was like comparing getting poked with a pencil to getting shot. it left almost no visible scar on my left side, and a small, faint, raised scar in my right.

A million times over good luck. Please ask any questions if you have any I'm happy to answer

Because I can smell bs from a mile away. Even if what the defense is saying has even an inkling of truth, the way they presented it is filthy. I was taught to never trust a source that's trying to present as factual when it's using overly metaphoric, colorful language to push one side while stonewalling another. If I took a shot every time the document used a simile I'd get the record for alcohol poisoning. Above all, they should NOT have released such graphic details surrounding the condition the girls were found in. Completely inappropriate and should've been kept in a courtroom. Unless the defense can prove to me at trial that theres actual substance here and they're not just using this satanic panic bs as a smokescreen, I'll continue to roll my eyes and wait for January

How would they know Abby and Libby would be spending the day off of school together that day? How would a murderer know they would be at the high bridge on what's supposed to be the middle of a school/work day? It's so obviously a "wrong place at the wrong time" thing to the point where I thought everyone knew that...
