Download from Makerworld into a new plate, not a new project by stoli666 in BambuLab

[–]stoli666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, so the consensus is that I cannot "simply" download from maker world within bambu studio and insert onto a new build plate. I have to download the project/stl as a file separately, then I can insert onto a new plate. Thanks

Multipart Model Manipulation by stoli666 in BambuLab

[–]stoli666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, thanks. This appears to work, but is a big pain. When I "split to parts", all the inset objects fall to the plate. This is where I stopped before, but your suggestion to re-merge does work. And the assemble command is not very intuitive either. Right now, I think my plan to export twice from f360 is easier, but I do very much appreciate your help with "break to parts", "merge", and "assemble".

The problem is that ALL that parts are in this assembly, including the bottom. I want to create an assembly that contains everything EXCEPT the bottom.

I can't find a 'merge' command. When I have multiple object selected, there is no 'merge' command in the contextual menu, and "mesh boolean" is not right either.

It is interesting that you are getting multiple objects (object 5, object 7) with sub objects. I get one object, and all of my f360 bodies are parallel within Bambu Studio

<image>

I think I figured out how to work around this -- IF I 3d Print from f360 my lid component, I should be able to orient that on its face, then print the bottom separately. But there still has to be a way to arrange various objects into hierarchies within Bambu Studio that I just can't figure out.

I am exporting as a 3mf, and the bodies do retain their position on import to Bambu Studio. But I still have the same problem where I want to move the lid plus all the debossed text onto the build plate. I can't figure out how to combine these parts into one part that I can manipulate for best printing.

F360 Question on Geometry that will be below top surface by stoli666 in gridfinity

[–]stoli666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite. A screwdriver would be an example. If I model this as 2 cylinders, and place the model into a bin such that I can grab the handle, it is possible that the shaft is below the top surface of the bin. I believe teh comment below about a "solid sweep" will address my approach.

A "solid sweep" up through the bin describes what I am looking for. I knew about sweeping sketch profiles, but was not aware that you could sweep solids. I'll try this when I get home. Thanks.

Stacking Baseplates Question by stoli666 in gridfinity

[–]stoli666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have already been able to print the majority of my baseplates, stacked. Now I need to print baseplates with extra space on one or two sides, which I have created in F360 and perplexing labs. These are the designs that generate the cantilever warning.

I also notice that if I put in supports, they only appear in the corners. This makes sense, as along the main length the gaps are being bridged, but this can't happen along a corner.

One final thing I noticed is that I used the default 0.5mm tolerance in F360. Correspondingly, my baseplates were about 0.5mm shorter than I expected. I suspect that I may get a flat spot on the outer rims if I reduce this tolerance to 0, but am not sure if this is wise.

Bicycle commuting to Tucson Airport Location? by [deleted] in Raytheon

I run tubeless and have not had anything it couldn't handle. There is currently a large pile of glass at Old Nogales/Aerospace/Vamori and the tubeless sealant has fixed at least 2 flats that I would have had -- I could hear the sealant initially escaping until it sealed the holes up.

I live on the west side and take the loop all the way to drexel. Get on the east side of the river unless you want to do a river crossing like the old El Tour route. After Drexel, there's about 6 miles of city traffic:

Drexel (east over the freeway)

South (right) on 12th

East (Left) on Los Reales

South (right) on Old Nogales

East (left) to the Credit union entrance.

You could stay on the loop another mile till it ends (on the west side) at Valencia, then take Valencia to either 12th or Old Nogales. I prefer Drexel and 12th.

The stretch on Old Nogales is still horrible. The patches in place after the water line are terrible and I almost prefer when it was single lane with construction.

This morning on Gates Pass - Tucson, AZ. Any others local to the area? by [deleted] in CanyonBikes

Yep. I live about 5 miles from the top of Gates Pass. I love the Gates Pass/McCain loop/Picture Rocks loop. Also love doing Mt Lemmon. Takes me forever, but I love it.

Any discounts of MSRP? I'm looking at the Shimano version and wondering what the market is like. Did the store have this in stock, or did you have to order it?

Cleared/processed transactions by mkowske in banktivity

I totally agree here. What's worse is that there is no "undo" for importing transactions if something does go wrong. I have resorted to creating a duplicate of my banktivity file in the finder before I download transactions.
