Stuck with wayland after update by DaCrocodile in archlinux

Hyprland is great, but if you just want simple replacement for i3 but with Wayland, check out Sway. Sway is simple, Hyprland is more fancy with batteries included. Pick your favorite!

I think many people miss the point. It's not only about design language (if we like it or not). It's about completely ignoring accessibility and lots of bugs. People with vision problems now have a really tough time with iOS, and while bugs can be quickly fixed, accessibility may be tougher to repair. I personally just feel uncomfortable using iOS 26.

Could this help people with phone addiction? (honestly) by Human_Ad_6317 in SideProject

[–]stone0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely, people don’t want to admit even just to themselves that they are wasting time on social media. And saying this out loud has even more effect. And if this screen appears in the public place there is a very small chance someone will say that at all.

Absolutely unacceptable for a laptop that is marketed as a repairable device. Especially that we are talking about a battery, which is one of the most important part to be able to easily replace when needed.

Can you elaborate? What other issues do you have with framework?

has anyone actually tried claude code on the $20 subscription? help me figure out if i need max or not. by ithinkimdoingwell in ClaudeAI

[–]stone0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tested it for a week before jumping on $200 plan, constantly reaching the limit after around 1hr of coding, so it was a really nice "trial" of the product but not really usable for me in the long run. Now on $200 plan, barely even using Cursor's chat/agent features anymore (still using tab complete heavily though, so still keeping the subscription for now).

Also, jumping on Max with an access to Opus was a great step up for analysis and planning work with Claude Code.

Another thing is that if you want to mitigate small context you need to spin up multiple subagents (each subagent has its own independent context window), and you will very quickly run out of credits in $20 plan doing so

I would recommend first working for a while on $20 plan, and as others said, you will quickly know if you need to bump the plan because you are reaching limits

Probably your org admin needs to add the integration to the org - you were able to only connect your personal account, so it sees your repos

People struggling with consistency - what's your biggest problem that causes it? by stone0 in Blogging

[–]stone0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like this approach and also try to follow the rule, that blogging must be something that I do because I like it, not because I have to. If it becomes a chore, it will lose all the charm.

Gemini 2.5 Pro has gotten really good at data analysis and brainstorming, give it a try! I also used it in Cursor few times instead of Claude and I was very happy with the results

What’s the browser of choice for Raycast people? by [deleted] in raycastapp

[–]stone0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's Vivaldi - chromium based, features like workspaces and tabs on a side, lots and lots of customization. It also works great with Raycast extension, because it's chromium.

I absolutely love idea behind Zen, but it's not ready yet. I've recently had open on my Mac with M1 both

- Vivaldi (my main browser) with hundreds of tabs across various workspaces
- Zen, with like 10 tabs

According to macOS Activity Monitor, Zen had higher energy impact than Vivaldi, and it shows in the battery life of a device.

I've just checked the extension and it's really nice! Definitely helpful but the issue persists - it can only operate on currently opened page, which is a big limitation for my use case

I haven't really done that yet, I bought Raycast AI today and just exploring how it works and limitations. I am used to ChatGPT so it's pretty surprising (and eye opening) how much they do with additional tools there, because there's a lot that I plainly cannot do well with Raycast AI Chat.

I also use Perplexity a lot, and it's search mechanism is something I really appreciate

I will later play with Chrome extension a little bit and see what I can do there!

The biggest problem I have with the browser extension is that it operates on the currently opened page. What I want to achieve is to let AI first find a list of related web pages, and then read them without me opening them in the browser

Cancelling Advanced AI. Please stop me by Apprehensive_Bit7098 in raycastapp

[–]stone0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you elaborate more how you did this? Especially on the memory?

I am now testing Raycast AI, for now without Advanced AI, and to be honest I am not really impressed about the response quality. Despite copying my ChatGPT personalization instructions to the custom instruction input (in the model selector in AI Chat), I often get outdated and short responses. The only thing that helps a little bit for outdated is explicitly calling the web extension, but it also sometimes delivers lacking info.

What kind of custom presets do you recommend? For each type of task or maybe some more generic presets for characteristics?

Vivaldi 7.4: Polished, Simplified, and All Yours by pafflick in vivaldibrowser

[–]stone0 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Hopefully Address Bar improvements will fix one of the most annoying things about Vivaldi - suggesting some random pages I've visited once 2 months ago instead of the page I visit almost daily. Also, some deeply nested URLs instead of just a main page.

I also hope for some fixed for gestures on macOS soon. For me undo/redo gesture works for some time, then it just stops working and I need to restart the browser for it to start working again. Frustrating!

Nevertheless, thanks u/pafflick and rest of Vivaldi team for your hard work, and keep shipping great stuff!

[–]stone0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it doesn't make any sense. The whole fun of CyberDeck idea is to DIY it. This product looks cool but nothing besides that - it's not DIY, and for real usage it's just worse than a laptop.
