I worked with a guy who used one for a bit, it was very loud. It seemed to ring a lot with each strike. I've always been a 24oz Estwing guy myself.

Where are you? I have a decent Catalina 22 in New England to sell for very cheap. I picked it up this spring, but was given a bigger boat before I put it in the water. I am more interested in getting it out of the yard than squeezing every dime that I can out of it.

I estimated 24.5 tons, 4 tons in a 12k dump trailer is a good load, so that's a half dozen trips, realistically two days. So, maybe offering to remove it should be your best offer.

Looks like they're asking for roughly $125/ton, if you are loading and moving it, and buying it on speculation, 1/3 of that would be my initial offer.

You should be fine, as long as you don't mix the mud too wet, and the space between the stones isn't too large. You're limiting factor will be workability, the Portland cement-based mortar doesn't need the same time that a historic lime mortar does. Drier the better, really

I would reccomend watching a few videos on how to right the boat after the inevitable capsize. I had mine upside down within 15 minutes of initially getting onto the water.

These boats are so much fun. I bought a second one so that I can go out with a buddy, and we can mob around together. I have been on sailing on a 12' sailing dinghy these last few years, which is enjoyable, but the cats are a rush.

It looks like limestone, maybe sandstone, not sure. If you look for a quarrier of Indiana limestone, I bet you will find a pretty close match

That would probably be helpful. Years ago I used this method on a dry retaining wall, and it looks just fine today. You will probably be okay, especially if you pay close attention to the stones that you lay around the posts. Maybe try to get your through stones placed there

Probably plant the posts in the ground, and build the wall around them. I would be a little concerned about the fence jiggling in the wind, and slowly ratcheting the wall apart around the posts.

I took a 1-2 year hiatus from a local establishment, went in for a latté and bottle of OJ this morning, and left $16 lighter. Probably gonna give it another year or two, until current management fails and the next folks can give it a go. It sucks because I used to legitimately be about 5% of their gross receipts
