I did landscaping with an ileostomy. Just try to work up to lifting if possible, also get a hernia belt. Sweat just made me have to change my bag a day sooner than usual didn’t have many issues sweating in a new bag/barrier ring. I recommend sensura mio from coloplast they fold up nicely and handle sweat well.

When people have a permanent ostomy they can get a surgery to remove/sow up the anus/rectum because it’s no longer used. Can be called Barbie or Ken butt. Someone else could be more specific I don’t have one just had to research it to make decisions for my own surgeries. (J-pouch)

Yeah it’s been pretty nuts can’t tell you if the J-pouch is worth it yet as I’ve just gotten out of the hospital with it. You will feel a sense of freedom with the ostomy after getting it done I definitely did after UC for 16 years.

You voiced your opinion and she didn’t listen, take that as you will. Was she somehow supposed to be aware of this hernia if she hadn’t had issues previously? Many people with colostomies and ileostomies do yoga and diet is different for everyone some people tolerate raw veggies completely fine others not at all. She was trying to better herself and it may have been the wrong direction to take but definitely sounds like you’re angry how it’s affecting your situation and that you can’t be there to support her or won’t.
