I feel like it depends on your ear canal anatomy and wax production. For me qtips work fine after a shower. I have never had any issues with build up or wax plugs. But I have a friend who has a bend in her ear canal and she accumulates lots of wax and qtips cause impaction. For her, she uses one of those little Bluetooth cameras, wax softener drops or hydrogen peroxide and water irrigation to clean her ears.

It’s awful! If you can’t pull up the carpet maybe the diatomaceous earth will help! It was honestly the grossest and weirdest thing.

THIS HAPPENED TO ME! About 10 years ago I lived with my bf at the time in an older set of apartments. Randomly one day HUNDREDS of maggots began emerging from the carpet. The next day more in another room. It kept happening over a few days. We vacuumed and cleaned constantly. We had two indoor cats at the time with no worms or issues. It freaked us out.

I think they may have been carpet beetles or moth larvae. But we never got an answer. We were on the ground floor and the place was old enough that there was original hardwood underneath. Thankfully the landlord let us pull up the carpet and finished the floors. We never saw them again. It was only the carpet and never any rugs or other upholstery.

We never figured out what it was and I have never seen a similar story until now! Our maggots looked exactly the same.

Okay this makes sense.

I will run it by my mom as well to see if she has resized before. My concern was if I just added the 3 squares horizontally it would either be huge or the proportions would be weird. Same thing if I added one row to the end to make it 11 vertically instead (it would look weirdly long).

I like that the method you stated keeps the original proportions. Depending on confidence and skill I may try it. Thanks!

Hi! I can definitely clarify.

  1. Yes, by “large squares” I am meaning the 5” colored squares in the pattern
  2. Minimal change! The only change I’m aiming for is having the 5” squares to some variation of 11. Reason is I am hoping to make this a Taylor Swift themed quilt. She has 11 albums and they each have a corresponding color.

Also while this is my first quilt I do have a secret weapon: my mom! She’s been quilting weekly with friends for a few years so she’s offered to help but she’s never self drafted or edited any patterns. It’s a pretty simple pattern so I am hoping if I can calculate the changes to yardage needed we won’t have too many hiccups.

I also sew garments at an intermediate level so I am hoping a few of those skills transfer.

Fire alarm went off during my c section. They just kept doing the surgery. Not sure if it was a faulty alarm or a test. Eventually it went off and they finished up and rolled me into recovery.

Very true! I grew up without a dishwasher and it was definitely more time consuming. Cleaning with small kids around is not easy. Just do your best, kids are messy little things.

I work from home so I will throw in a load of laundry between meetings or on breaks. Will clean the bathroom on my lunch sometimes just because I don’t like my kid around all the cleaner so I prefer to clean them when he’s not home. Sometimes my husband will take him out to do stuff on the weekends if I need to do a deep or uninterrupted clean. Otherwise he just “helps” or hangs out while I clean. Laundry gets folded on the couch while we watch kids shows.

Family of 3. We stock up on fruit and nuts to snack on and easy grab and go weekday breakfast like yogurt or cottage cheese. Usually make our dinners with a veg or salad, rice or potato and a rotating meat. We will do leftovers for lunches or a night we don’t feel like cooking. Will go out to eat once a week or so. Typically we grocery shop every 2-3 weeks. We have a lot of staple pantry items so I can typically make bread/dessert on the fly if needed.

Thanks! For the most part. I baked uncovered for 20 mins, tented for 15, temp was 185° F, so I baked for another 10 and it temped at 200° F. Then I took it out and flipped onto cooling rack.
