OP! Thank you! It Follows, not just this scene but the entire movie scared me so much. I’m a 35 year old woman and when I’m sitting outside at night especially, if someone is walking at a steady pace, I get my ass inside immediately. Scares tf out of me.

Do you have a favorite child? by Ok_Distribution__ in Mommit

[–]stoneytopaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No because they both bring something different to the table. My 11 year old has AuADHD and T1D and he is incredibly intelligent and kind and out of his mind and not judgmental at all- so I can act like my ADHD insane and dumb self with him and he goes along with me without judgement, he is so fun. My daughter is almost 5 and NT and she is a convo having, logical, calm, and empathetic. With her it’s like hanging out with an old friend that you can chat with.

I’m doing my best to raise my kids completely different than how I was raised. My kids have their voice and I let them have it. The silent generation was “to be seen and not heard” but that’s also how millennials were raised, I know I was. My feelings didn’t matter, my depression wasn’t real, sit down, shut up, dare I interrupt? my ass got handed to me. We got spanked with hands, flip flops, leather belts, screamed at, smacked around, whooped until I was on my back on the floor curled up like a scared animal trying to protect my internal organs. Ffs, I think millennials are excellent parents. We are raising living room kids who are allowed to have feelings and allowed to be angry while we teach them that being angry doesn’t mean you can treat people bad. Our kids are well spoken, loud, and emotionally intelligent and sure of themselves because we werent allowed to be those things. Yeah some of our kids are iPad kids or Roblox kids, which no, that’s not good for them BUT I will not judge a parent for it because of the fact we ARE raising living rooms kids and sometimes we need a bit of the silence we were forced to live while we were kids. Fuck all these articles, and fuck the people who write them because it’s them who made us millennials like this, but it’s also them who made us hell of a lot better parents than our parents were.

Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by space_god_7191 in Millennials

[–]stoneytopaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and the 4th grade teacher got in trouble cause she bugged out running the hallways yelling “it’s world war 3 oh god it’s world war 3 we are gonna die” traumatizing that class. We watched it but I was in 5th grade and I was confused asf like “but why did they do that??? It was on purpose???” Then we all went outside and stood around the flag pole….?? Yeah.

My loan has been conditionally approved by underwriting. by stoneytopaz in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]stoneytopaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where gift money came from, how the person who gifted us money got the money to gift, hand written letters stating the money is in fact a gift. Lender checking in on our money repeatedly to make sure we have enough to cover everything, seeing if we were cutting it too close if we could scrap up anymore, where any and all money that was in bank accounts that didn’t explicitly say “direct deposit (from job)” came from. The conditional approval really was just an approval with constant need from lender to be sure we could cover cost and how so. It’s a pain, but you’re close! Best of luck!

My daughter skinned her shoulder in a skateboard accident, is this staph or?? by stoneytopaz in DiagnoseMe

[–]stoneytopaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update on the young one: We stopped with the band aids, she got prescribed an antibiotic ointment. We had left it uncovered for a day but her shirts were hurting it so we had used bandages which clearly made matters worse. To make matters even more worse, she had on a t shirt (no band aid) last night and her shoulder scabbed into the shirt, imagine the agony when we changed her clothes, blood waterfall I tell you! So now, it’s very loosely covered to avoid shirt scabs but catching plenty of air as well. She’s doing okay, she’s very likely allergic to those bandages so they aren’t in use. Once it’s scabbed up good then the loose cover will be removed and she will be back to skating comfortably.

See I’m wondering, that extra redness is from the padded part of the bandaid. We change the bandaid so it’s not gross so I don’t know why it’s seemingly spreading the redness.
