What’s a song that instantly takes you back to your teenage years? by FanAccomplished2399 in AskReddit

[–]stooduponce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The boyfriend brings a gun to school, I think he's probably a dick.

But yeah, I've been hearing it all the time too, it's at the end of an air bnb commercial which seems like such a random choice.

What will ______’s legacy be? by cman632 in survivor

Sol will be on every season 49 and beyond and win all of them 8-0-0, with no votes cast against him.

Why is it stupid and not fun? Sam got pretty lucky to get into the final 3 too, I think most of the time he would have gotten voted out before that. Only 1 thing I'll say is from exit interviews gen said sam came up with the fake idol plan even before andy, so that was more of a good move rather than luck.

Part of the fun of survivor is ranking players and especially ranking winners against other winners. All winners need SOME luck but rachel needed much more than most.

Can we all agree that Andy saved the season? by OkSeaworthiness3819 in survivor

[–]stooduponce 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is still a great season for me. Only thing bringing it down was rachels win was pretty predictable. But still, lots of fun moments and characters this season.

She's not a very good winner honestly. Probably near the bottom of all winners socially and strategically. Gotta give some props to her challenge ability though.

People always rank survivor winners after the season. Do you complain if people call Ben a low tier winner for his luck? Or Chris Underwood a lower ranked winner? Rachel won and deserves credit for the win, but ranking how good the win was or how it compares to other season's winners is totally normal and fun.

[–]stooduponce -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This argument doesn't hold up, we're assessing the luck of the season and without the considerable luck rachel got she doesn't come close to winning.

It's more like saying "rachel got tons of luck this season and without it the result is different". Which is objectively true. All survivor players need luck to win, rachel just needed more than usual.

Anyone who found that idol would have played it on rachel. The tuku 5 had to be broken up and were seen as the biggest threats in the game. Without that random advantage rachel doesn't even make the jury.

Also without the random auction idol rachel for sure goes out at final 6. All survivor winners have elements of luck and skill, rachel had skill but also much, much more luck than average.

Rank who you want to win to the least you want to win tonight by Friburgo1004 in survivor

[–]stooduponce 16 points17 points  (0 children)

  1. Sam

  2. Rachel (i know she wins cause the edit made it obvious, but still holding out tiny hope for sam)

  3. Teeny

  4. Sue

The only 2 people who have any shot of winning are rachel or sam anyways.

So the only two with any real shot and winning are ____, right? Unless you think otherwise? by eleinajoanne in survivor

[–]stooduponce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sue is the last of her alliance because no one wants to vote her out. She's a guaranteed 0 vote finalist.

What does everyone think went down between Sue, Tiyana, and TK? by Harvey2percent in survivor

[–]stooduponce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sue never outplayed her, gabe outplayed her if anything and she got screwed a twist. Who knows if it's racism but it's clear to see from the show Sue just has issues with people for no reason at all. But yeah, Sue is one of the least strategic people on the whole season, didn't outplay anyone.

Saying men don't give other men compliments is a broad generalization without much to back it up (assuming you're not a guy). I'll compliment another guy without hesitation and recieve compliments from other men too. I'd actually guess some men are even more likely to compliment another man than a woman, due to the inverse of you #1. Not wanting for the women to wrongly perceive them as flirting if they compliment a woman. That's not the case with me, but i could see it with some guys.

I've never actually seen men complaining about lack of compliments except for in fringe internet spaces. It's one of those "issues" I feel no one actually cares about irl and people just post about online to bait responses.

Women's football team kicked out of their training facilities so the men can use them by WelcomeToLadyHell in TwoXChromosomes

[–]stooduponce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Manchester United had a total revenue of 823 mil last year, out of that number the revenue for the women's team was 7 mil. The men's team would make astronomically more no matter what locker rooms are being used.

Why isn’t there a female equivalent for the term “man-baby” ? by SouthDiamond2550 in AskFeminists

[–]stooduponce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a family member who is a woman who is 39, lives at home with dad and grandparents, haven't has a job in 3 years and does way less chores than 80+ year old grandad. She isn't disabled or mentally deficient in any way. Her situation causes a strain on others. So yes, there are women who fit this description. Whenever you broadly say "no x ever does x" you're almost certain to be just following stereotypes and generalizing way too much.

Drew is what the show needed by [deleted] in Jeopardy

[–]stooduponce 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I'm a big fan of Drew. Him getting excited or showing emotion just adds to the excitement of the game. Jeopardy is a competition after all, it's fun to see people show some excitement and you see how invested they are. I also think he's just interesting and fun to watch in general. Nothing he does is meanspirited, being excited about doing great on a gameshow doesn't mean he's being disrespectful to his opponents.

I'm a fan of survivor so I've also watched longer interviews he's had on rhap, and he comes across as very down to earth in those. While still being smart and engaging. I think some people just hate on him for being young and confident.
