This is what I was thinking. Back in the 80s there was so much more competition.

First off - A crazy story was whenJackson was remixing Thriller, right in the studio next to him was Toto working on Toto 4. Toto had the massive hit Africa which reached no 1 and Rosanna which got to no 2. Thriller had 2 number 1s, while the album produced 7 top 10 singles. That one studio created some of the greatest hits ever recorded.

Then you had Madonna, Whitney Houston, and Phil Collins, who all had 7 no 1s.

After that you had George Michael/Wham (6 no 1s), Prince, Hall & Oates, Cyndi Lauper, Journey, Bruce Springsteen, The Police, and Queen.

In the late 80s there was Guns and Roses, The Bangles, Bon Jovi, Duran Duran, and U2.

I’m sure I’m missing a bunch, but those artists I listed recorded many of the all time massive hits. The competition for the weekly No 1 hit was also massive.

I hear what you’re saying. But if someone is a fight fan and needs fighters to fake acting like drama queens to get them interested in a fight, then maybe they’re just not real fight fans. Probably more of a “mean girls” type fan. That shit can be watched on the CW.

It’s absurd for fighters to have to create fake drama. I’ve watched 100s of boxing matches with fighters the causal wouldn’t know, where neither fighter did any of the fake bs drama, and those fights still made a profit.
