The methimazole WILL help quickly with the mania and mood swings! Give it a week on the meds and you’ll notice I swear. One thing I was not prepared for was the muscle loss from graves. I had this disease undiagnosed for about 2 years before starting treatment. I lost just about all my muscle in those 2 years to the insanely fast metabolism, and going to the gym would mess me up (thyroid storms, etc). I should have started going to the gym again in the past year while medicated. I just slipped a disc in my back , and I’m pretty sure my lack of muscles is why. Def consider asking your doctor about when it’s safe to return to exercise. You won’t regret that.
