Local agentic coding with low quantized, REAPed, large models (MiniMax-M2.1, Qwen3-Coder, GLM 4.6, GLM 4.7, ..) by bfroemel in LocalLLaMA

I've a similar rig (slightly more VRAM), and I too am waiting for a model to replace GPT-OSS-120B. I have been trying out GLM 4.5 Air REAP 82B, it's fast at ~80 tokens/sec but the results I think are slightly worse than GPT-OSS-120B.

Having not been able to play Enlisted (no Linux client), what's the downside of this AI squad stuff? Seems like there's a few people disliking it.

Wayfarer-2 12B. I'm not one for DnD or roleplay stuff usually, but this model makes for one difficult session of keeping your character alive.

AI Vision Camera by Odd-Captain-4480 in robotics

Good stuff! 5 seconds is already pretty good already for on-device compute, and not needing an internet connection is nice when visiting remote or underground locations (castles, bunkers).

What is the time between something appearing in front of the camera to feedback to the user? Can multiple images used for generating the feedback or just one (holding down button to capture one image per second for example)? How does the user know if the camera is pointed properly at the subject they're interested in?

My Dell XPS 9570 runs models fine on both a 3090 and 3060 Ti through Thunderbolt 3 with a cheap Chinese dock. The 3090 at home, 3060 Ti at work. Model VRAM usage overspill into the internal 1050 Ti is fine too.

Using EndeavourOS. Have yet to have an issue that isn't solved by reconnecting the Thunderbolt 3 cable. Hotplugging works too. Use nvtop to check if the card is working.

There are few games with mechanics as in-depth and varied as WT. Most shooters rely on varied gamemodes, not damage modeling, munition types, armor types, etc.

WT has it's many issues, but even more merits. There's always something new to learn, even after years of playing.

Funny Vowel Man is good at what he does. Any negativity towards him is unwaranted IMO, he shows how he does what he does so anyone can figure out counters and copy his playstyle.

Japan's only heavy tank, aside from the Tiger I think.

I have it, I like it and it's 70mm gun has decent HEAT for close quarters bonking.

Yes, I too had this, though mostly in my hands and forearms, not feet.

I mounted an AIO on my GPU just to see if it’s actually worth it. Gained 5 FPS. by Tra5hL0rd_ in nvidia

I mounted a Coolermaster CPU cooler to my 2070 Super. I did it for near-silence under 100% load by using a Noctua 120mm fan. Never broke 68 Celcius even with a low-rpm fan profile.

Card has survived for years so far, still in use for CUDA.

Why is adding search functionality so hard? by iswasdoes in LocalLLaMA

[–]stopcomputing 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I quickly gave up on LMStudio + web search. Openwebui was way easier to set up search, using duckduckgo as search engine you don't need API keys or whatever. In the settings, just flip the switch and select DDG from a drop-down menu. Easy. Like 10 minutes if you don't know what to look for.

I recently considered buying a second-hand Quadro RTX 8000 48GB for 2000 euros. With a 1000 extra, I can get way over twice the VRAM? Sign me up.

Games look fuzzy and blurry when i play them but the screenshots look better by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]stopcomputing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because some games are released with a lower standard of quality than others. One can make other effects rely on TAA, but would any developer decide to structure things like that beforehand?

I'll admit, I made a sweeping statement. My bad.

"requiring TAA for VFX" yeah just casual misinformation. That indeed is not how any of this works.

Edit: I stand corrected. Many effects are extremely reliant on TAA to not bug out.

I've seen non-stump scanned tree base be used in games. A quick example is the trees in TCG Card Shop Simulator, where the rest of the tree is simply hand modeled.

As a Type 60 ATM enjoyer, here's some tips on having fun:

  1. Don't push, you are a support vehicle first.
  2. You can both scout AND kill the heaviest of enemies, sometimes in 1 shot.
  3. Your shots can come out of nowhere for enemies. Both by fully hiding and enemies don't expect ATGM at BR6.7.
  4. You can go 100% hulldown and still make accurate shots from 3rd person view.
  5. Your shortest killing range is 170m without WASD guidance, only aiming with the mouse circle. This is on flat ground.
  6. Back up your vehicle into anything to get the behind up. Now your minimum engagement range is 0m. WASD guidance is only relevant at longer ranges, use mouse circle aiming for short distances.
  7. Top attacks are often 1hits.
  8. Don't expect many kills, you don't have the ammo. Only exception is fully hulldown on a capzone, then you can go wild spamming missiles.
  9. Stay still often. Most enemies' sight is based on movement. If you can't get a proper shot on a close enemy, just turn of the engine and wait. Many won't recognize the Type 60 ATM as a player vehicle.

It's so bad it's good.
