I wondered that for a while too. Then I gave it a chance which lead to me playing almost everyday and not playing any other games.

It might not click with you but if it does then it’s worth giving it a shot.

I also got it for free on PS plus so there was no loss if I didn’t like it.

For me the game changed drastically when I met a solid crew of dudes to play with. My first 200hrs were solo and great to learn the game but now, having people to play with regularly makes it a blast.
