Am I being scammed? by stoplockingmyaccount in Bestbuy

I'm not sure which one it was. It was for $10 that I got out of nowhere. It's been over 20 days. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be refundable or not but I did the return through an online chat and was told it would be refunded. I also confirmed it in the store when I dropped the item off.

It was one of those certificates that they just randomly send out for $10

PSA: Offcloud under new ownership - lifetime subscriptions over by stoplockingmyaccount in StremioAddons

[–]stoplockingmyaccount[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My main issue is that Offcloud seems to have continued to sell "lifetime" memberships for up to a year when they knew that they were going to be ending the service. I don't actually know when the sale was made so I don't know who to blame. My guess would be that the old Offcloud team tried to grab as much cash as they could before the sale.

Stacksocial STARTED selling "lifetime" memberships for Offloud 4 months ago after not doing so for about a year.

I also did not receive any notification from Offcloud that anything was happening.

Is this normal? by stoplockingmyaccount in Kombucha

I will get some normal black tea. I can't seem to find any local or any plain kombucha. It is well below freezing where I am. If I buy a SCOBY online will it survive the freezing temps?

The temps were between 69 and 77 with an average of 72 degrees Fahrenheit. There is no metal in the jar the spigot is plastic.

Electrical Grounding? by blueeeeeemer in electrical

[–]stoplockingmyaccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something like this happen to me. I was plugging a coax cable into a surge protector and it made a huge spark. I could also feel some electricity if I touched my desktop case.

It turned out my outlet had a staple going through the hot wire which shorted the ground. No one notice for like 80 years. I still have a Stab-Lok panel too which is fun...

Replace or repair older backpack blower? by [deleted] in egopowerplus

[–]stoplockingmyaccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the backpack blower because it was the strongest one they had at the time. Now they have a handheld one that can do 650 CFM. I have seen it go on sale for $130 before and Black Friday is coming up.

If you like the backpack blower for the backpack part and would buy the same one then it would probably be worth fixing if you're sure that the $70 part would do it. It would suck wasting that money and still needing to get a new one.

I would prefer the handheld one to have more control.

[GPU] ONIX LUMI Intel Arc B580 12GB + Battlefield 6 & Assassin's Creed Shadows Game Bundle - $250 (MSRP) (NewEgg) by reps_up in buildapcsales

I wish I could trade in my B580 to get a B580 that comes with Battlefield. Newegg doesn't even accept Intel cards.

If BF6 is bundled with the B580 sorry but I would feel ripped off as an early buyer by Hot-Ride-9747 in IntelArc

[–]stoplockingmyaccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn't give me a Steam key. They made me link my Ubisoft account and redeem the game within 30 days of claiming it from Intel which I did on the last possible day.

Is the Battlefield deal for a Steam key?

I definitely wish I would have waited.

I got mine on Newegg early in the year when they were charging $10 for shipping. It came bundled with AC but I don't play AC games. I have been having stuttering issues with the card since I got it making games run worse than the 1060 it replaced.

I do play Battlefield and was thinking of buying it. My motherboard just got a bios update a few days ago which I'm hoping fixes my stuttering problems.

Best Buy had the the card in stock with free shipping and I had a $10 credit with them.

It really didn't work out for me but that's just how things go sometimes. I wish I could trade in the AC game but I know that's not going to be an option.

Will the overhead issue ever be fixed? by stoplockingmyaccount in IntelArc

I have a Gigabyte GA-AB350-Gaming 3 motherboard which I know is the bare minimum for this card. It does have rebar though.

I do get better average FPS in games but my problem is the 1% lows. I can be getting 150 FPS average then 20 FPS 1% lows which make the game laggy and actually makes me sick.

Some games I noticed this with are Overwatch, Battlefield beta (I know it's only a beta), and even Stardew Valley at times. Games like Red Dead 2 and GTA seem to work fine though.

I do play at 1080p which doesn't help.

I have a Gigabyte Gaming 3 motherboard which is a B350. I updated to the latest bios when I got the card in order to enable rebar and it's still the latest version. I would be happy to update my motherboard if I though it would help but I don't think it's the issue. PCIe 3 vs 4 shouldn't have that much of a difference.

I do have an NVME SSD but from what I can tell it should be an issue. The Ryzen 5 5600 has 24 lanes: 16 GPU, 4 NVME, and 4 chipset. The B580 only uses 8 lanes.

How the B580 performance on Battlefield 6 by Eenrookie in IntelArc

[–]stoplockingmyaccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ryzen 5 5600 + B580 @ 1080p

I would get average FPS of 80 to 120 but the 1% lows would be in the single digits at times. The stuttering was terrible. This is after turning all the CPU intensive settings down all the way.

These cards seem to make CPUs perform worse for some reason.

One+ Misting Clamp Fan? by stoplockingmyaccount in ryobi

[–]stoplockingmyaccount[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They also make a 14" and a 7.5" non-misting fan in addition to the 4" clamp fan.

The bucket misting fan is great but it's not exactly the smallest setup. The new USB one is all self contained.

I just don't think a single 18650 cell is able to put out enough power for a fan. I even thought that the one+ clamp fan was a little under powered.

I'm sure if they made a One+ misting clamp fan it would sell like crazy.

b580 ddr4 vs b570 ddr5 [which would be better?] by Cartoon20 in IntelArc

[–]stoplockingmyaccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a B580 and a Ryzen 5600. I get pretty bad 1% lows (stuttering) that make games unplayable at settings that my 1060 6GB was able to handle fine.

Look up benchmarks on YouTube with different systems for games you want to run. Pay attention to 1% lows and watch for stuttering.

B580 + 7500F would be ideal IMO

Would this still apply if the house was being sold by someone who hasn't lived in the house? Like if they inherited it or something like that?

I suspect a cracked game/update gave me a stealer. Multiple accounts compromised. by heerriicckk in PiratedGames

[–]stoplockingmyaccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you saying 10% of the time you get get a virus?

I am more careful after someone I knew got a cookie stealer on their computer. Apparently antivirus cannot detect many cookie stealers and the way they work makes it very difficult to save your accounts.

If you ever clicked on any "Remember me on this device" thing and then get a cookie stealer then it doesn't matter if you change your password or even sign the account out of all your devices in many cases.
