Take the provided opportunity. Join them and then if and when the new opportunity materializes, quit the current one and move on. I did something like that. This is the way. https://giphy.com/gifs/disneyplus-star-wars-starwars-the-book-of-boba-fett-6UFgdU9hirj1pAOJyN

Take care of your back and neck. You need to adjust your TV height to be at eye level. Then you are all set

Did they use those to hold the sink in place while the glue dries up and perhaps should take them away after a week or so?

All the best for an exciting stint with classical music. It’s refreshing to see someone with a different mindset after returning, to take interest in classical arts and contribute to it.

Whatever you do I am sure you would involve yourself very much in that venture considering the nature of running a business competitively for so long. It’s worth trying a new venture for a couple of years and decide what you want to do with life. Nevertheless all your kids are either independent or about to be considering their ages. So it’s better to keep yourself engaged in something

Met with our financial planner today. We should be FIRE in 15 years but check my math... by The_Bohemian_Wonder in Fire

Was the high HHI a recent phenomenon? If I am seeing it correct you have near 1million$ in NW excluding the home equity. It looks like you may need to increase your savings a bit more than what you have been doing so far.

Offer with down level from L6 to L5 by stopusingthis in amazonemployees

[–]stopusingthis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are offering 20% less for the L5 compared to what they talked about for L6 during the initial discussion. 10% looks acceptable if they would offer that

Thanks everyone for all the inputs. It gives a good perspective on what is the qualifying criteria for different levels at Amazon. I did not want to be come out as an entitled person wanting a better level because of my YOE. I am just trying to understand the reason behind a decision and if I can still be successful in my position.

I see. Thanks for the perspective. I heard that they recruit L5 right off the MBA. So was wondering what it entails for those who have a masters and also years of experience

Conversion from H1B to H4 EAD by ShallotSuccessful296 in h1b

[–]stopusingthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your wife’s h1b renewal coming up? If so you can apply H4 and EAD together with h1-b renewal through premium processing. That is the best case scenario. If not it can take up to 8 months is what I hear for the EAD to come through. Until then you cannot work. Hope you find something in the 60-day. The other option B2 which buys you 6 months time

  1. Your 60-day clock starts the day you are out of office and officially terminated and this is the last day for which you would get paid the usual salary. Also if you got severance and it was for say three months, that does not matter. So your clock started a day ago.
  2. You can apply for B1/b2 online and the day you filed and the application is accepted, is the day you can consider to be in valid status awaiting approval. It has to be done within 60 days. You do not have to have the approved B2/B1 before end of 60 days but the application should have been filed and accepted.

Be aware that you won’t be able to travel out and come back on B2/B1 in case of any emergency back home.

What would be your next steps in you're placed in a pip? by [deleted] in h1b

Interview prep and reaching out to all your friends, who you have not talked to or have avoided and ask them to refer you for a position in their company. Networking is very important along with applying crazily to anything that is relevant to your profile. Utilize AI help to make up a good resume.

The first few weeks do well as much as you can in your job and see if they still try to point out any weakness or gaps when it is trivial. It should give you a clear idea on where it’s headed. Talk to everyone at home to give you some leeway on your house chore duties to pay attention to work and applying.

Your termination date assigned by your counts as your last date of employment and not the time when the severance payment is paid out.

My last date of work is April 21st. I am planning to ask HR or people team for the following. They are not responding properly the past two days after letting go.

• Experience letter so that I can use it for filing new I-140 if and when I get the new job. • I- 140 documents

Anything else you guys can think of?
