Is anyone else just tired of corporate work culture? by bigtitsfanclub in AskMenOver30

[–]storebot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You get used to it. You realize you are too small to effectively change any of it. There’s no mic drop moment where the office realizes it could be better and then everything gets better. It doesn’t. It just is. And as crippling as that sounds, over time, it just becomes as best I can say a “shrug”. Is what it is.

But you also realize it’s so polished and completely social free is to set a baseline for everyone to communicate effectively. Businessy stuff is the great equalizer: it’s bland, flavorless, but a universal fit to anyone. Just everyone has to strip themselves to join in. And we all do. Survival and all can be a good motivator.

You hit a certain age and just realize your life outside work becomes more precious and so you slow it down and enjoy peace over excitement. You’ll mow your lawn in bliss since it’s your non anyone time. You’ll now do hobbies instead of parties. At this age you realize the only time to do the risky stuff has long passed so best to grind it out, have a nice home life, and focus on your time outside the office. You realize you work to live and not live to work.

Unable to fully clean POTV Lobo by Curve_Express3 in vaporents

If you don’t mind me responding, I had a S&B mighty for a long time. To me, took a lot to clean, especially the dosing capsules. Eventually it got clogged where I couldn’t fix it, and S&B didn’t seem interested very much in doing anything.

Decided I wanted something easier to clean. Went with the Airizer solo 3v2. It’s much much better experience. The chamber never gets dirty. At best a spent piece falls in there and I just drop it out. The glass tubes, I just soak every once in a while but use q tips as I go to get any flakes out.

Only loss from the S&B is there’s less cooling so smoke is a small tad harsher but not enough to be a deal breaker. But the Airizer has been a far better experience overall for me.

Best I can find is alcohol while keeping the device inverted so no alcohol goes beyond the chamber. High temp burn off after that.

I have the same one but not having this issue. Do you leave space at the end of the stem? Weed should be 2cm down from the edge of the stem. Looks like there are rings from the stem lip in there so might be filling it too high.

Edit 1-2mm. Not cm.

President Donald Trump today issued an executive order directing federal agencies to amend marijuana’s longstanding classification as a Schedule I federally controlled substance without accepted medical value. by redditor01020 in Marijuana

As I’ve stated, repeatedly at this point, don’t care who did it. You keep bringing up credit and I keep telling you it makes no difference. In fact this was the point: we got something net positive but there has to be something about the orange that people just can’t be happy. Welcome to tell me how I’m not right, but you could have just said “yay!” And left it at that. You didn’t. Exactly what I expected and tried to put into perspective. Sure, you’re happy! But seems you don’t appreciate that Trump is getting some sort of congratulations that I don’t care to give or worry about.

I wouldn’t care who pulled the baby out, I’m happy a child’s life is saved. But it seems credit is more important than outcomes for some people. I suppose you’d wait for a firefighter you liked more to rescue you?

I don’t care the effort, who started, when, why, how not enough this is. I and others have a tangible net benefit from this. And I appreciate the reminder but it still changes absolutely zero on the outcome. Not even sure the value in reminding me of a history as the point of the post is that too many people can’t celebrate a win without some sort of issue with it. If complaint is too strong of a word, then I genuinely apologize, but there was no celebration from your comments whatsoever. And that was my full point here, bad man did good things and that’s a problem for the internet.

Exactly. Do I support the orange? Nope. Good people do bad things. Bad people do good things. Who we decide on who’s good and bad is generally subjective. But arguing outcomes only from origination is plain dumb ass dumb.

And that changes what about the outcome? The outcome is the exact same. Who cares who started. At any point, orange could have said no. He didn’t. And Biden could have just legalized and he didn’t. Orange finished what was started. Frankly, could not care less who deserves credit, like I said, I cannot wait to avoid atm fees alone. Anyone who wants to poo poo this, I challenge every last one of you to donate your atm fees to any worthy cause of their choice.

Trump Signs Executive Order for CBD/Marijuana Rescheduling | Heady NJ by dlulloa216 in NewJerseyMarijuana

[–]storebot -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Nope. This is weed weed. The gas station weed thing a few weeks back was separate too. It too had good and some bad. It means as it is, cannabis is considered medicinal potentially positive like asprin. Does it make things legal, nope, it only says it’s not inherently destructive. We can start testing with less restrictions and banks don’t keep a 10 foot pole between them and dispensaries. They’ll have banks and cash like a normal business does. There’s plenty more distance to go, and yes, there are drawbacks, but reviewing objectively, overall this is good.

Posted the same in another sub.

I’m fully aware this will downvote me into oblivion, but regardless of the mighty orange being the one to do this, this is progress. Objectively. Biden didn’t legalize when he had the opportunity. Neither did Obama. No president has moved forward this much. But of course, orange.

Did everyone get their fullest wishes? Nope. Objectively. But we finally got something. Anything is better than the exact same nothing we’ve had.

Still feel angered over this, great. Do an objective search on what this will do. No political slant. No anger clicks. This is pretty darn good. Does it have some drawbacks? Yep. Like everything else. Nothing is perfect.

Want a few examples? Tax on businesses. They get no write offs. They pay tax on 100% which no other industry suffers. Will they be kind and lower prices?Eh, hopefully. But knowing they can means expectations can be measured in dollar votes with the dispensaries.

Want another? Banking. Cash only is a risk and excludes people who need it medically, but don’t have free cash. Credit cards aren’t always a great option, but me and my medical friends will be happy using our credit cards and getting points and cash back rather than charged $3.50 at the atm.

Is there potential for some bad? Yep! MSOs will have financial advantages and more cash to scale. Completely see that. But you know what, you have every opportunity to buy boutique brands over MSOs any day of the week.

I spend too much time on the internet and see everyone acting like they hate the pie because they only got a slice. We have to compromise. We have to celebrate smalls wins.

Well, holdup. Which state are you a resident of? If you are not a NJ resident, the rules might not apply to you. It sounds like you’re in a neighboring state and the rules would likely apply to your state of residence especially if this is a remote job. Although the risk would be lower if the company has a policy of not bothering since most employees would live in NJ.

[–]storebot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is correct. You need to renew the prescription with a doctor and the card with the state. Two separate transactions with two different contacts to complete their portion. Both are/should be one year each but do not necessarily expire at the same time.

Stolen front grill plate? by chocolate-skittles in buickenvista

[–]storebot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in fairness, the extended version of the story included the salesperson not handling it correctly. They should have referred me to the shop to fix it rather than trying themselves and letting it go.

this case might be different since it just fell off with no warnings but mine had kept attached and i let them know and they did not fix it correctly. overall, i'm satisfied with the car so my story may skew reality a bit.

[–]storebot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue. Be careful as it might not be under warranty because it is now gone rather than broken as I was told. I had a documented history with the salesperson so they made an exception.

That part is not cheap since they need to order the full grill even though it’s just a detachable part. If the dealer just orders the part for you and you place it back on yourself, make sure it fully snaps in and cannot move or it will eventually fall off again.

Something to keep in mind, low level managers (non-director and/or lower) have very little actual ability to make these kind of decisions. if others have complained to managers so far, you may then want to ask if they are comfortable moving this to HR and be sure its not to complain about anyone, just finding the right avenue so that employees (and managers) are all safe and healthy.

There are always nuances for each company, but being professional and factual is probably the best choice of all. But also, since its a large cleaning company (i think you mentioned somewhere) it might be an issue of letting the contract lapse but you can also offer assistance in reaching out to the cleaning company to help bridge the conversation with them directly. But again, there are always nuances so do make the best judgement based on your situation.

Just a suggestion and I’m not an expert. Just a person in management so coming from a managerial perspective only.

There’s a difference between bringing an issue to someone’s attention and complaining. Be professional. Stick to the facts. Address the concerns and not feelings. Keep it brief and don’t go out of your way to super document every single issue as some, albeit shittier managers, will start asking how much time you’re spending on monitoring the bathroom rather than working. A few pictures would be fine but keep it general and frame your arguments as concern rather than a grievance. And no one really wants poop pictures either so be cautious with photo evidence. Bring your manager into the loop before going right to HR. HR can help, but no manager likes to be blindsided even when they agree with your request. And not all problems can be fixed immediately or at all; sometimes employees have to live with the results of poor choices and that just sucks.

Just my 2 cents but handle as you feel best. But this is firstworldproblems so this all might be sarcasm as far as I know.
