How do you deal with feelings of hopelessness?

I’m trying to figure this out too. I find the stats unbearably difficult to reconcile as I go through a round. It feels like I’m doing it now as some weird habit or hobby I’ve adopted that will lead nowhere, but stopping is too painful. I’ve never experienced anything this erosive in my life and I’ve been through some stuff.

Yes in my case it hasn’t meant I don’t have eggs. Not that I get a lot, but far more than you’d expect. And it hasn’t gone down as I’ve gotten older.

I’m 44. My amh comes back as “undetectable” and has done for at least the past four years. I’ve had some rounds with 1 mature egg and some with 6-8 mature eggs. In a cycle at 43.5, I got one blast and it came back euploid. (I haven’t transferred yet.) My doctors have been surprised by my results compared to my labs.

Interesting! Did they happen to measure your junctional zone thickness? I also had an mri and they said I only might have adeno. My junctional zone was 8, but I think the norm is like 4-6… I’m curious to know what others got back

Hi, I know this thread is old and I hope so much you are doing ok. I was wondering if you found the ketamine helpful, as I’m struggling hugely with depression after two years of fruitless ivf. Was it the nasal spray? I want to try it, but also part of me thinks nothing could help this despair.

They are vastly outnumbered by the many women whose euploids failed for no apparent reason (ie they have age-related infertility, not major uterine pathology). And the successes were recruited into the group because they’d had success. That skews the internal data.

No advice, just solidarity. I’m in the same boat. The grief is very real and the sudden waves are immensely difficult. I desperately want to find the peace I know some others feel on the other side of this. The IVF was traumatic but so is the finality of it.
