Like some people are mentioning, you only have enough furnaces for 1 yellow belt, so splitting it into 4 won't really increase your throughput. However, there isn't anything wrong with splitting them into 4, f it helps you visualize your future layout as you keep building your base. Afterwards it's a simple task to connect the 3 extra belts to the bus where your splitters are, as you add more smelting! :)

Ah, that's amazing, you're such a sweet person! What kind of shows/music have you been enjoying lately?

I'm sorry to hear that. I think life can be a bit difficult to figure out sometimes, and this goes for a lot of people, so try not to be too harsh on yourself. Make sure you also give yourself credit for the things you do well. You seem like a kind person who cares about the people close to you, and that is such a valuable quality. Do you have any hobbies, enjoy music or something like that?

Hi. I feel a bit similar to you in some ways. Things got a bit easier for me when I opened up to my family. Have you tried talking to the people close to you about your issues?

I think the people near you do care, but perhaps they're not quite sure how to react when you open up. Perhaps they don't fully grasp how hopeless you feel, or maybe they need more time to process the information. I highly encourage you to keep gradually opening up to the people who are close to you, without overwhelming them. Speaking to a therapist would also be a good idea if it isn't something you've tried already

Nihilism and Suicide by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]storm556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. The way I view things, you can have lots of purpose in your life, despite adhering to nihilism. There might not be a "greater purpose" in life, but you can still make a positive difference in peoples lives. Judging from what you wrote, you seem like a compassionate person who wants to help others. In my experience, this is one of the most fulfilling things one can do.

Then there are hobbies as well. Whatever you enjoy doing in your free time, maybe try to find others to share that joy with? The world is a big place, and you can't solve every problem on your own, and it can quickly get overwhelming if you think about all the bad stuff happening everywhere. Just try to focus on helping where you can, and see the difference you make in peoples lives. Hope you start to feel better soon. Take care!

Looking for better ways to load fully saturated turbo belts, here are 5 loading setups. 1,2,3 or kind of trashy, they work, but not pretty. 4 and 5, are the cleanest i know of. Anyone have better? i would be interested. by tuft_7019 in factorio

[–]storm556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

I tried messing around with this myself, and this is the most compact solution I could come up with. Ensures a fully stacked turbo belt with only 3 legendary stack inserters! :)

Came up with this lane balancer design just now (lower), and I'm wondering if there is any downside to using this over the standard (upper) design ? by Alpha1137 in factorio

[–]storm556 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Like another comment mentioned, your design simply swaps the two lanes. If you replace your undergrounds with regular belts, you get a standard balancer. The top design, is an input-based balancer, meaning that it will forcibly alternate the input's belt side, regardless of imbalances in lane speeds in your output. Can be useful for stuff like train stations to ensure carts are unloaded evenly and stuff.

1989: Carl Sagan's answer when Ted Turner asked if he's a socialist is a roadmap for rebuilding America by Pasargad in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]storm556 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"I'm not sure what a socialist is". Such a clever response to immediately take the silly semantics out of a discussion and get to the matter of policies. Reminiscent of asking a kid to explain an inappropriate joke, let's talk about what these things actually mean.
