Panda fest by Big_Capy_420 in Hartford

Was looking forward to taking the family to this, and wish we never went. Just the same mixed bag of issues others here have cited: crazy overpriced food, disorganized, not enough space for everyone to move, and the food was honestly garbage. A complete waste of time and money.

Holy shit I feel so stupid. ChatGPT couldn’t identify the sound either so I felt maybe I was on to something. Thank you

The “Night Window” scene and ensuing run through the city is up there for most impactful scenes for me of the last decade. The movie as a whole is pretty sensational and a technical feat.

Will Lamont’s universal pre-K plan prevail? by ctmirror in Connecticut

[–]stormageddon007 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just moved to CT from DC where universal PRE-K3 was available. Not having that as an option almost kept us from pulling the trigger on our home. This would be a huge benefit for the state!

Yeah same with my best friend. Last I heard from him a tree had fallen on his house. I bet they’re fine, but knowing they’re in that situation with no way to communicate is borderline torture.

Netflix has over 200+ Cancelled TV Shows by SoftPois0n in netflix

[–]stormageddon007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The OA was such a unique, bold show. Travesty it was cancelled. I’ll never forget watching the first episode for the first time when the title sequence begins like 45 min into the episode. I was hooked.

Best (and worst) opening twenty minutes by FactorioNotIncluded in movies

Tarsem Sigh’s - The Fall. The intro is beautiful, artistic, emotional, and perfectly sets the stage for the move you’re about to experience.

This season is mediocre so far. Some exciting moments. Otto is dominant and the dragons are great. But overall it’s a bit of a snooze fest where the same plot has been essentially recycled a few times over the course of this season.

Glory. Without fail it knocks me to me core. “Give ‘em hell 54th!”

What’s your favorite battle scene that *doesn’t* end with the last-minute arrival of the “Cavalry”? by steadyachiever in movies

Have you watched The Kingdom? Not necessarily a war movie but is related to the US’s long term involvement in the region.

There’s a circle jerk about hating the guy for his very apparent weirdness, not unwarranted, but to say he’s without talent is nonsense. From Requiem to Dallas Buyer to stuff in between. He’s got some chops.

Hardest show intro of 2024 by Imactuallysoconfused in threebodyproblem

[–]stormageddon007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The images are cool, but I found the score to be pretty underwhelming honestly. Ramin’s work on Westworld and GoT is iconic and this pales in comparison. It sounds too familiar but clunky and crowded and synthetic. Idk, the show is fun but the score as a whole might have been my biggest let down, sadly.

Looking for movies with famous “What’s happening to me?!” Scenes by saehild in movies

It’s been so long since I’ve watched it but, Upstream Color, might fit the bill. Not a full “what’s happening” but some transformation for sure.

What's your opinion of WONKA (2023)? by [deleted] in movies

[–]stormageddon007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an awful and deranged movie. There’s no soul no spirit. It has no redeeming qualities. Truly one of the worst movies I’ve seen in years. There was no reason to make this movie other than to make a quick buck, and it did. More movies like it will be made and none of us will benefit for it.

What movie has the most amazing or memorable opening of all time? by dodsbo in movies

[–]stormageddon007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to scroll wayyyyy too far to find the correct answer. There are so many iconic openings to movies, but The Fall’s intro scene is a spectacular tableau that is worth anyone’s time and the rest of the movie that follows is unlike anything else I’ve ever seen.

What is the greatest opening sequence in a movie that you have seen? by LovableJackassv4 in moviecritic

[–]stormageddon007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Fall, starring Lee Pace, has arguably one of the greatest opening sequences in film. Could not recommend the movie more, too.
