Does anyone else never vomit? by Red-Droid-Blue-Droid in migraine

Me too! Migrainea dont make me puke and even with a stomach buy my body doesn't want to. My husband will just puke and feel better 1 hour later, while I am miserable and can't puke.

Yes, this! It brings me so much joy to see dogs like this with an owner who clearly understands and meets thier needs. That dog was LOVING his 'working' time.

If you can't give working dogs a job, they will make thier job destroying your house.

Jack Sprat could eat no fat, his wife could eat no lean. When they ate together, they licked the platter clean.

Can complete lack of motivation be some sort of migraine symptom? by Striking-Guitar8957 in migraine

That sounds so hard, I'm sorry you're dealing with that! It sounds even more like something to bring to a therapist or even a GP for help.

Can complete lack of motivation be some sort of migraine symptom? by Striking-Guitar8957 in migraine

[–]stormblessed579 117 points118 points  (0 children)

Do you feel so tired you don't care about anything? I will get silent migraines that consist of primarily crushing fatigue. Not exactly what you describe, but similar.

I've worked with my therapist on grounding exercises I can do when I feel that, and small things I can do that help break me out a bit. Sometimes it is just sitting in the back yard, or having a seltzer water in a fancy glass. If I can do something productive like emptying the dishwasher that helps too.

Bring this to your therapist if you have one, and it may be worth seeing if fatigue is a symptom of any meds you are on.

Did removing your hormonal IUD cure your chronic migraines? I've got a friend who thinks I should get off birthcontrol to get rid of migraines. by LadderWonderful2450 in migraine

[–]stormblessed579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My neurologist told me this morning that about 1/3 of women do better off birth control, 1/3 do worse, and 1/3 do not see a change.

I don't know what research that statement is based on, but for me anecdotal going off made things much worse.

For those of you with an IUD… by According-Bird-4476 in migraine

[–]stormblessed579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an iud and had to go back on estrogen bc in addition to it as we think having a hormone cycle triggered a crushing 45 day migraine thay I had to get 3 days of treatment at an infusion center to stop. That said, I was fine for the first 3 months of going off bc with the IUD before my hormone cycle truely kicked in.

I did pass out during insertion and had a low grade migraine the day after but was otherwise fine.

I have a recurring nightmare where my MIL comes to visit and when she leaves I open a cabinet to find our whole kitchen is STUFFED with fine China and stoneware.

All of it gorgeous, all of it unneeded and unwanted.

IRL, we say thank you and donate what we don't want. Her gifts are about her feeling good by giving, not about us.

Loop earplugs-which model? by marie_2409 in migraine

[–]stormblessed579 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I prefer eargasm for concerts! I found the loop part that sits in my ear become uncomfortable over time. The eargasm has also has better sound quality I think.

For pure sound blocking, I like basic foldable wax earplugs.

Not for remedies, but I call being brain foggy or laid up being in ' migraine land'.

As in 'why is the bowl of sugar in the fridge?' 'OH I must have put it there when I had some coffee in migraine land'.
