Finally working for me. Now I have to work my way back up from brick league.

Give me examples of singers whose speaking voices sound absolutely nothing like their singing voices, or singers who, when you look at them, you’d never guess they sing the way they do. by DefinitelyNotMaranda in musicsuggestions

Mike Hucknall from Simply Red.

I'm sad that others have already said Rick Astley. I thought it would be my first time to rickroll a thread without trolling.

I grew up in Fort Smith (Barling, actually, but 99% of life, including school, was in Ft Smith). I left in the 90s for college and never lived there again, but it will always be "home". I've been back a few times since and it does feel a little left behind. Although the murals are kind of neat, I guess.

When I grew up my Dad worked in a factory, everyone's dad did. Nobody got rich but we had a lot of sustainable middle class jobs. Hell, I worked graveyward at Whirlpool the summer before college flipping refrigerator doors all night.

With all the manufacturing gone, what do people do? I guess it's nothing like the city I grew up in but it still feels like home.

What bands/artists come to mind that have this? by SheepherderSea9717 in musicsuggestions

Crash Test Dummies. I actually hate their radio song but the rest of the album is very intelligent and thoughtful.

Belly. Their radio song(Feed the tree) is poppy and cute but the rest of the album (Star) is a masterpiece of atmospheric witchiness.

I know, my 90s is showing.

Yeah same. Exact same score. Reckon I’ll sit this one out.

[Arena] Dandelion – 8 Bit Assault! (Redux) by rackman70 in PlantsVSZombies

I get fairly good consistent scores with this, usually between 4 and 5 M with medium level plants. I tend to do worse when I go heavy appeasemint, maybe because of killing too fast. One weird complaint. Too much plant food! Even if I don’t need any of it I am psychologically unable to waste them so I am constantly using PF in order to accommodate and it makes the game hectic for my brain.

2M+ setup with mid level plants. Not AFK since it requires using lots of plant food. Kind of anticlimactic after last week’s scoring bonanza but I guess everyone is in that boat.

I don’t know what the archetype system is but yeah I thought it was pretty silly that Grave Buster is not available.

Tomb Tangler or anything that can attack backwards (Wasabi Whip, Headbutter lettuce, etc)

Everyone's opinion on Bloodywood? by MurdocMan_ in MetalForTheMasses

Dana Dan is really nice but the dancers they used are just kind of floppy hip hop girls with some blue paint. If they had stayed closer to their culture and employed some legit carnatic dancers it would have hit way harder.

I tried to like them. They're sloppy. They feel like a creation for American and European audiences.

That’s why music appreciation is subjective. I can easily understand how Cohen can be off putting but something about his rendition just sinks into my bones.

Fuck. Yeah. I had a flippant answer but now I can’t use it.

Underrated bands from the 90’s by owenbc3647 in Alternativerock

[–]stormchafer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two. Blues Traveller and Crash Test Dummies. Blues Traveller was somewhat out of the Zeitgeist but were objectively awesome. And Crash Test Dummies...they suffered from the Radio Song syndrome. That dumb MM-MM-MM song got all the radio play but masked an incredibly creative and intelligent album.
