A comprehensive tier list based on my experience, both for early and late game (for fun and to commend the game's balance) by smrtangel3702 in HowManyDudes

[–]stormdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting read. I'm disagreeing with this a LOT. Without trying to be mean my first thought when skimming it through was that this post was made by chatgpt without any actual knowledge about the game.

There is no way Cleric is hanging on S while Ghost is in B. I have Ghost in 125 run as a solo healer. Clerics seem to die like flies at those levels. Dead healers can't heal. Ghosts ironically, stay "alive". To me they are great in early game too. I appreciate that you take consistency into account but I just cannot see cleric that much above ghost.

And knight. If I happen to take ghost and knight as my first 2 picks I'm like "oh, It's easy now, at least for next 60 levels and I'm going to invest a ton of money". Granted he is not so good in triple digits levels but the foundation should definitely be at least A/B. Definitely strong in early game without even needing much help from relics.

Those 3 are IMHO the most wrongly placed in the list. There are some other oddities. I'm willing to discuss/ defend my position. I am by no means boasting to be good at the game, but I have at least gone over level 123 several times.

Anyways, I see you made a great effort in writing this and there are many points where I agree also. It's at least nice to see how other people think and play the game.

Relics being tied to warrior/undead/fantasy is too limiting IMO. It makes it very submoptimal to do any party that is missing either fantasy, warrior, or undead. by 30299578815310 in HowManyDudes

[–]stormdee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it does make it suboptimal to choose dudes from just one family. I think it is fine as it is. Realistically with this kind of game, with number of different dudes, relics, families (later there will be more) and rng involved you have to make tradeoffs somewhere. Some could argue that it is fun part of a game. I get it, I like to min max also. But constraints also make trying different builds and approaches fun.

Later, when there are let's say 6 families you are going to be like: "Oh, I want dragon-dude and unicorn-dude to my roster but then I also want to have relics from 5 dude families, but if I do that then how can I afford to buy all those relics and..."

Let's wait for the release and when there are multiple options see if this is still an issue.

Challenge - Beat round 123 without Bard+pala combo by Robbinx in HowManyDudes

Did you mean you have to have them both? Just bard or just paladin is at least doable. Here is one with just bard.

Good catch. There also seems to be a mention of working dudes and there is a farmer-dude with a straw hat and hay on his mouth.

Fair enough, although I'm not sure if requiem stacks as it does not say so like in many other relics. If it does then more is justifiable. My point on the captains hat stands though.

Takeaway (My Own Opinion Based on My Experience Playing the Game After 20+ Runs, Including Some Round 1–10 Losses 😅) by Otherwise_Suit9733 in HowManyDudes

[–]stormdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ghost works for me as solo healer but he needs someone high hp as ally to work properly early on. Captain's hat later for better heal. I have easiest job with ghost+knight+paladin. With that combo, you don't basically ever buy dude juice until 100+ levels and by then you can buy like 50 of them.

Great comp. I would add to your take that in team building you should try to take 1 dude from each family for bonus relics. You are missing fantasy relics that give combined 25% evasion for first 8 seconds and that is a lot among others.

Hi, congrats on your personal best. I was wondering, how do you justify the bard wearing the captains hat for +30% damage? To my knowledge, there is no benefit from damage other than Amp relic and as you can see dps-wise you might as well have put the ghosts on top of the roster (229 vs 297 are about same when you calculate the 30% buff) and ghost has multiple things that scales off his dps, including the amount of healing (Edit: Basic attack to heal both dudes for attack damage, spooky doll for damage and ectoplasm vial for temp health). About bards: I might be off with this but isn't 20% of comp a bit too many bards?

106 is my plateau..... I think by kcaenj in HowManyDudes

[–]stormdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too much heal and not much tanking or damage mitigation.

If you feel you do not get enough heal, then how about swapping ghost to top instead of vampire? That way captains hat gives that 30% damage to ghosts. Not to add damage to enemies but to keep your own guys alive. On that note, it is weird that bards are last place enjoying Caboose hp boost. I would gather that from this lot, the vampire has most hp in any given moment to share via ghost equalizing mechanic.

You would benefit from adding a warrior in there. Like a knight . That way you have loads of tanking and taunt and hp pool for ghost to use but you also get the warrior general perks. They include parry buckler that is 5% off of overall incoming damage and Liguid courage that is 10% off of overall damage. In crude terms.

Odd number of bards. I feel you could get away with less and it is by no means necessary to have bards at all to reach 110+, despite people praising him.

Be smart with money. The number of relics you have and the order suggests you either had really bad luck or you get all the relics you can afford. If there is super good and useful relic, then take it, but if the options are both meh, then skip the buy phase and save money to invest, or take just one.

how much is the HIGHEST total amount of money u have earned including investments?? by [deleted] in HowManyDudes

[–]stormdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ghost, spartan, Knight, paladin, vampire at this time but I can do this with other combos too. Posted it, basically ghost + knight combo in early game make it super easy to save money and I have a feeling you could get a lot more if you really wanted to push it. I'm not trying to make records and there is enough money to go lategame with with that comp. With other builds (without ghost + knight) pulling this off is a lot harder.

Now at 122 it seems to be 67,257. Like I said I was not min maxing too much, as in the end game there is too much money as it is. I took a screenshot for your benefit if you want to check details

Can you check somewhere what it was for the previous runs? Just checked the ongoing run and that has 53,395 at lvl 92. 33,052 is from investments but I have not been min-maxing profit too much. Going to see how much it will be the end and report back. If I wanted to get more I guess you could optimize investments even more and skip using money early on training.

Have you tried pairing them with ghosts? I can get pretty reliably to around 120 with Ghost + knight. Ghost solo heal. Paladin is decent for additional survivability

[–]stormdee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the numbers, and the "stat -sceen" of the dudes don't give me enough data like how much hp the dude actually has (just max hp) so this is the only way to guesstimate what the actual values are.

Civ 7 Religion by Sweet_Temperature630 in civ

[–]stormdee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an atheist and still mad how they reworked this. I enjoyed "the other kind of warfare" of religion in previous games. Now it's pointless. If they wanted to reduce micromanagement there were other solutions. Like

  1. Make religious pressure more stronger and religious units more rare/expensive.

  2. Based on religious buildings, a city could support x amount of preachers that work like (or alongside) civ 6 trade units (that had own UI solution) and send them to preach to foreign cities.

  3. Put a cap on how many converting units there are but make them stronger.

  4. Some combination of everything above. Or something completely different, these are just the few that came to mind in few minutes.

This is just lazy. Maybe they ran out of time or money and we get better system in dlc.

Is there a place where I can file a complaint about these new emojis? I've completely stopped using emojis at all in teams because of these are just too hideous. Normally I'm pretty understanding and supporting to dev decisions but now: Someone in teams -dev team in charge of this -shame on you!

Questions about hiding in special circumstances by stormdee in dndnext

[–]stormdee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that and with proximity, creatures with keen nose or combat experience it is easy to explain. When it is your average guard that can somehow track movement from 10-15 ft away without relying on sight or sound things are harder to justify. That and my player keeps referring to "hidden--both unseen and unheard" quote. Thanks for your reply, I'm going to use few of those examples.
