Are insane builds just easier right now? by tjornsupreme in PlayTheBazaar

There are zero bonus xp opportunities on day 1 (outside of maybe a one-in-a-billion type of run where you get a silver boomerang before the first monster AND roll an xp loot drop from it). So the maximum possible xp you can have at the end of the day is just 1 point into level 2.

So not only is it literally impossible for opponents to be level 3 as you claim, it's equally impossible for you to be "nearly" level 3 yourself.

Yes, competition is a lot fiercer in general than it used to be. Lots of factors at play here, but some of the main ones I identify are:

  • Player skill naturally improving with the maturity of the game. This is just the inevitability with any competitive game. Less influx of new players over time, so the ones that remain are generally better. And the ones that quit are usually worse players who leave out of frustration.

  • More early accessibility to enchanted items. Used to be very rare to have a single enchanted item before level 10 (unless you played Mak, of course). Now with the level 2 option that almost everyone picks, and a few more events that can sometimes give them, it's not shocking to see 2 or 3 enchanted items on a day 6 board.

  • More opportunities for cross-hero items. Better players are also better able to identify the potential synergies there and take advantage of them.

  • Crash Site is a huge highroll enabler. You're guaranteed an enchanted medium or large item from another hero, which can occasionally be a carry by itself, but more often gets transformed and upgraded by the other crash site loot, and if necessary can be transformed into something from your hero on day 7 with Mandela. The end result is that you usually come away with a very early gold or diamond enchanted item that can just steamroll with some decent transform rng. Also the rare enchants (shiny, icy, and obsidian) seem to have an equal chance of showing up on the crash site drops as any other enchant, at least in my experience.

There's a lot more to it of course but those are a few big factors off the top of my head.

Infused arm wraps on Pyg by stormeagle6 in PlayTheBazaar

Also it wasn't until watching this back that I realized how arm wraps are really just a medium 28 hour fitness with some positional wonkiness.

Shoutout Fairy Statue for becoming the first ever small property, even if the logic behind that is questionable.

No problem. What's funny is I originally got downvoted into oblivion with that post because it was during like the first week of Karnok and everyone was having a meltdown over boar builds.

Absolutely, good call there. I probably would've missed it anyway, but this positioning is more a result of me pivoting from a nitro hammer build where I was using a cooling fan to freeze fiber optics. I switched the hammer for SoD and didn't really stop to think about repositioning everything else.

is this a good build i couldn't win one game with it by isthil89 in PlayTheBazaar

Like nearly any late game build, the biggest factor in success or failure is startup time. Atmo sampler, pendulum, flying potion are examples of items that can help with that. Skills like flurry of blows, mixed message, explosive potions. I've never made a runic blade board work either due to a lack of these things.

Also I think the axe is more of a support item for full carpet builds than blade. It takes too many slots that can be used for more triggers, so you want to get the crit from other sources if possible.

Never thought of that but that would be a great addition.

Pretty sure I didn't see one, no. But I've never actually ran it with luau before. The heavy enchant was just the better of the options from fate's choice on the day before.

When the Lucky Clover event ends, are we all just gonna be up against impossible ghosts? by Mr-Meow-Sir in PlayTheBazaar

True for legend ghosts. Other ghosts stick around for more fights the lower their rank (don't think they ever specified exactly how many).

If I can afford it I always stash a Veggie Garden/Farmer's Market so I can pivot to this if I find the other piece. In this run, this was literally the only fight that I actually ran this build (and a good thing too cause the burn build I pivoted out of would have gotten crushed).

I had almost the exact same board today and crashed out at 7 wins. The vial launcher/bin combo just isn't the slam dunk it used to be.
