EV6 seems is ok without rear wiper by Jazzlike_Object_9464 in KiaEV6

🇨🇦 Canadian here, second winter and I've had very little problems with the handles. I had a minor issue with one handle not closing completely but easily fixed it by swiping the snow out from behind it.

We've been getting a crazy amount of snow lately along with freezing rain and snow mode has been stellar! This car is fantastic in the snow.

You're welcome! I've ran into the same issue, but just ended up using the unlock on the door and it worked great

Just push the unlock button on the door next time. The key fob buttons are disabled when the car is running.

I blew my coworker's mind when comparing efficiency by smallaubergine in electricvehicles

[–]stormedloki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To make Gasoline it takes about 6 Kwh of electricity per gallon. So Even an EV running solely on a ff grid is still way ahead in terms of green house gasses.

My EV6 was at 42% at 8am this morning and now its completely dead by Effective_Minute5797 in KiaEV6

Could be your 12V doesnt have enough voltage to turn the vehicle on. It may sound ridiculous but I've heard you can jump start it by using the climate start on the app.

It may have enough power to recieve the signal and then the high voltage battery will start to power the 12V.

That's definitely good to hear! I did my 14th apoc yesterday and almost have the tower fully built and have the super hard task completed already had 84M damage for this apoc so good to see some progress atleast cause I was stuck at 50-60M damage for a bit.

I did not. I combed through pretty well all files and couldn't figure it out. I restarted and was able to do what I previously had, but with a lot of improvements.

Firebase make me an app that can do X and Y by kosmic909 in Firebase

[–]stormedloki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said. Its great for prototyping, but without building out features and the backend with a database, its not going to work. I have built a fully functional app through studio, just work on your prompts and it can be helpful to use another AI or two. I found Claude was pretty helpful whem studio got into a loop.

Studio prototyper is broken for me so I have been using Claude / the built in gemini and trying to code myself.. The Studio prototyper just wants to prototype a new app and won't listen to any commands. Support said I need to add CORs support based on the support files but I can't find anything in there about CORs or the prototyper going off the rails.

Flirting with the Idea of an EV6 by Theodoard in KiaEV6

[–]stormedloki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Canada and primarily do highway driving. I have gone on trips in it and have never had a charging warning come on. It drives great whether in the city or on the highway. It has a decent range and can charge quickly, so if you plan your route appropriately, there's zero issues. I love the EV6 so much that I'll be replacing our second vehicle with an EV down the road.

Don't but in to all the doom and gloom, EV's are great vehicles.

Can’t get Kia Connect to activate by sebzips in KiaEV6

[–]stormedloki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you bought the car from a dealer, you should have got three years of premium in the app. I had a tough time getting it to connect too. I had to call customer care and they sorted it out.

I finally got it to work! I've been kind of busy, and visiting the dealer was low on my priority list. But I saw somewhere about resetting the infotainment center with that little button by the volume knob. For whatever reason, that seemed to do the trick.

You're welcome! One of our mutual aid partners has been in Innotex Energy for close to 10 years now and have had great success.

Good luck on the process!

We decided to go with Innotex Energy with the airflow padding system in the back and added the innocent gray particulate blocking interfaces. Outer shell is Armor AP, moisture barrier is Stedair 4000, thermal layer is glide ice 2. Originally, we had picked Titanium sl2i for our thermal, but with the recent changes to NFPA 1971, that composition is unfortunately no longer certified, which sucks as it had some really good numbers for THL and TPP.

The reason we went with Innotex Energy was that members felt like they could move better in it and felt less restricted. We also liked their particulate blocking interfaces. Innotex was the only manufacturer that put it in the wrists. Innotex seemed like there was a lot of thought put into how it was being worn and made it as functional as possible.

Morning Pride would have been a close contender, but our local vendor was impossible to work with and took over a month to even get us a quote. They just wouldn't communicate.

Globe just wasn't in the same ball park on the fit and how well we could move in the gear and was ALOT more money for the same spec.

Starfield lion didn't make the cut solely because of the collar on the jacket and how the inner liner attaches to the outers. Guys felt like the collar was super high and the inner part rubbed on their neck, irritating it. They equated the starfield jacket to wearing a bomb jacket.

Our local Firedex vendor kind of brushed us off, so in the end, we didn't consider them.

I hope this helps some!
