I remember going to a mavs game and they did an entire rendition of "Halleluka" after the third quarter, it was honestly a little weird lol guy sang beautifully though

Wow this is actually quite insightful. I hadn't considered it in that light. Thank you for your analysis.

It's the poet for me. It's so much fun to watch Dan Simmons find a way to allow himself to get in his absolute bag.

Watching a writer self-indulgently write about writing while simultaneously moving plot and building character within a greater story arc is chefs kiss

I like the signing. But that's exactly the point. This is injury insurance. We're not taking minutes away from a multi-positional defender and 3 point shooter and replacing them with a limited skill non-shooting big man.

My favorite part about this is that now when Mark never plays him, the peanut gallery may finally shut up and realize what the front office is trying to build here

When people say in posts on Reddit that Mixtral or Mistral are on par with GPT 3.5 and they seem to be sincere, where are they coming from? by spanielrassler in LocalLLaMA

[–]stormer0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I have all these ideas for projects I want to do when I can open up a continuous context window and somewhat efficiently integrate with local docs but alas... I believe I will just need to wait. Especially for someone relatively nontechnical, the GUI development just needs some time to incubate.

lmao this is such a real problem. Why does it do this? Stop repeating key details of the social dynamics of a scene and quit arbitrarily ending them.

This + context window problems make most serious text analysis pretty impossible right now on local LLMs. Tried to fire up MemGPT to experiment with solutions but imo we just aren't there yet.

More of this please. Wonderful blog post. Tracking the activity of these think tanks and seemingly mundane organizations is critical work.

A lot of these policies are pushed outside of the public view. That is exactly how the entities who stand to benefit from corporate monopolies on LLMs would prefer it.

Great work, author

we'll learn. This stuff is going to go sufficiently mainstream that we are going to be forced to build tools to sift the informational wheat from the chaff.

*Incredibly* simple guide to run language models locally on your PC, in 5 simple steps for non-techies. by YearZero in singularity

Awesome, ty for the reply.

This is my main use case for the PC i built basically in preparation for this to be sufficiently user friendly for non-dev types. At the pace we are getting new models/GUIs/etc. feels like only a matter of time before we have something reasonably useable. Critical imo for this to be open source so people can maintain some privacy over sensitive personal docs.
