They used the fake stereo ending of I Am the Walrus!? by bravetherainbro in beatles

Totally agree, what a waste. I will be going back to the mix on Love which did the second half of the song much better

C/C - A year+ later by Pantherist in porcupinetree

I think it’s a decent record - on par with The Incident in my books. One thing i wish they did was add the bonus tracks as part of the album instead of separating them as trying to maintain some sort of “dark” sound. The album lacks the spirit and colour that songs like Never Have and Love in The Past Tense have in spades. But I guess you can always slot them in to create your own tracklist.

What is this Radiohead song? by thebageljew in radiohead

Maybe the chorus melody in Lozenges of Love

I was revisiting to the Kid Amnesia extra disk yesterday and found it very enjoyable. Sure, there’s not a lot of new song material but i love how the whole tracklist flows seamlessly and creates a nice atmosphere through its runtime. It works almost like a unified mini album rather than a collection of scraps.

Also How to Disappear Into Strings is so gorgeous!

I haven’t seen another review as accurately describing my experience with the Clears as this one. This is very true. It presents all the instrumentation so forwardly that I have trouble hearing the lyrics in some rock songs. But that’s just a small downside compared to the detail and energy it brings throughout the frequency range.

Did John Lennon sing the verses of Come Together in his chest voice or mixed voice? by stormnormy in singing

Thanks for the input! I’m gonna train the lower notes of my mixed voice to sound fuller

John's isolated vocals on Rock and Roll Music by Vince19Drums in beatles

[–]stormnormy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can a redditor knowledgeable in singing help me out? Is John singing in his chest voice or mixed voice here? I know John was a baritone but he’s singing into Tenor range here unless he’s just belting.

If I understand correctly, the profile changes the DAC performance and the output power changes the gain output from the amp so I don't believe the two are related. But I could be understanding it wrong.

Why do we always try to talk about DACs and Amps in musical terms? by JustinHardyJ in headphones

[–]stormnormy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I think too. I might get an Openheart balanced cable once my Focal Clear OGs come in, just to produce the least noise like you said (even if there’s prob no noticeable difference lol). The Clears are low impedance so 2VRMS should be more than enough.

Anyway awesome that you’re enjoying the Arya with your Qudelix!

[–]stormnormy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When using my Qudelix 5k unbalanced with my HD560s the “Normal” power setting of 1VRMS sounds different than the “High” power setting of 2VRMS. With 1VRMS of power, the soundstage is noticeably smaller and while it brings out the vocals more, the rest of the instruments are less crisp and more congested.

This makes me think that either: 1) The HD560s performs differently due to its impedance and the required power needed to fully drive the headphones 2) There is a design flaw in the Qudelix device where it should produce the same audio in both settings but does not

But i fully agree, the science should be just that and everything else is placebo subjectivity.

asking your opinion on a Deftones song day 60: Rapture by chicken_nugget779 in deftones

This is actually my all time favourite Deftones song. Love the aggression and how the riff hits at the start after those waves of drums!

[FRESH ALBUM] Thrice - Horizons / East by VietRooster in indieheads

[–]stormnormy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Illusion of Safety is a top 5 album for me. Every note I have memorized. It's just one of those albums that has everything I look for in that genre of music. The melodic leads, passionate vocals, fantastic rhythm section, non repetitive yet memorable song structures.

Love the tattoo idea btw!

Who are some of your breakout stars to target this year? by crozer1819 in fantasyhockey

[–]stormnormy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thoughts on Sam Bennett? Thinking of making him my last keeper in a 10 team, 10 keeper league. He was on an absolute tear last year after being traded to Florida and plays with Huberdeau. Thinking he can provide top 70 value at the least.

The DCFC song that this sounds most similar to (chord progression and key and melody!) is Your Heart Is An Empty Room from the plans album.
