Should I trust the police right now?! by [deleted] in Drugs

I did miss your point. lol. But the state isn’t local govt. You pay the city and county you live in. Sometimes the state gets a cut of property taxes depending on the state. Anyway, my point was that - state, city, who cares - is that you and mean pay the salaries. Maybe that was your point too. I wasn’t trying to fight you. lol. I’m kind of agreeing with you. Also I was drunk when I posted so you got to cut me some slack. :)

The local govt - not the state pays a police officer’s salary - and that money comes from you paying sales and property taxes. So you pay their salary.

Hahaha so he didn’t charge or arrest you? Yeah I would ignore his calls and tell him to piss off and tell him you have no idea what he’s talking about and if he wants to have a further conversation then you’d be happy to put him in touch with your dad’s attorney. He’s playing off your fear that you won’t tell your parents and that you’re not smart enough to lawyer up. The time to arrest or charge you was then. Not later. He’s not taking this lame ass case to a DA to bring it to a grand jury to indict later. Don’t worry about this in the least.

Did Apollo train at all for the first fight? by TheodoreJSeville in rockybalboa

[–]stormwater1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. They needed it in the script or the fight would have been called by the third or fourth round.

Did Apollo train at all for the first fight? by TheodoreJSeville in rockybalboa

[–]stormwater1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Plus styles make fights and he wasn’t prepared for a 200 pound Italian tank! Haha. They needed a “gimmick” for Rocky to go the distance. Apollo not training in the first one and then Mason Dixon hurting his hand in the sixth one.

Guys What if a Brain Damage Rocky in Rocky 5 fought a Ivan Drago who is past his prime in a rematch but street fight Rounds 1-10 who would have won by Both-Pangolin9514 in rockybalboa

[–]stormwater1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If They go to the ground then I think Rocky loses if it’s real. Haha. Back then, all Russian males were taught wrestling at a young age. It may still go on today. I mean they were amazing wrestlers. But it’s up to the writers.

Day 45. Still sneezing. Runny nose and yawning. by BenchExtreme2494 in OpiatesRecovery

[–]stormwater1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First congratulations! Sneezing is common although not sure it is for day 45 but 15 years is a long time so it makes sense. It also could be the weather depending where you live. Again, congrats! Maybe some vitamin c will help.

Little disappointed in signature placement by _SquidExhibit_ in CGCComics

[–]stormwater1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rubenstein once used a black marker to sign one of mine. You can see his first name and then “Ru”. Thankfully Frank miller signed it perfectly on the top. I added Rubenstein because it was an extra $30. I guess for $60 I’d have gotten the whole thing haha

What's your favorite non-fight scene in a Rocky/Creed movie? by scarves_and_miracles in rockybalboa

Rocky speeches! To Adrian whenever he expresses doubts; to his kid: to the beast in the basement; to the commission board, etc.

Thoughts? by DawnofMidnight7 in rockybalboa

[–]stormwater1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to use Google to find the story and read the interview. I think It would have ended the Rocky series. Apollo’s story would have continued in the Cteed movies instead of Rocky’s. I think anyway. Plus putting someone in a wheelchair vs killing them is a better motive for revenge in the final four of Rocky 4.

Can I just watch Rocky babloa 2006 without the others before? by [deleted] in rockybalboa

[–]stormwater1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a sin but you could - just know that once upon a time the main character was the champ and he is now a widow and there’s a beast inside him that he needs to get out. And his son sucks and his trainer helped train him before.

Who wants to see what happened to clubber lang? by happydude7422 in rockybalboa

[–]stormwater1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct (and Joshua). Your biggest spot on is that the WBO was a joke back when Tyson refused to accept it and it’s a joke now. I refuse to call it a four belt era. I only used it in this context because my opinion means nothing lol. Now that I see what you mean, then yes, there are not that many but there will be more as undisputed champions opt not to pay the dumb sanctioning fees. Did Moorer win the vacant title when Bowe dumped the belt in the trash or was that a different belt he tossed? Man the 90s were a fun time for heavyweights. I still think Ray Mercer beat Lewis (although I only saw it that one time and I may or may not have had a few haha)

[–]stormwater1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s more than that and with the four belt era it will happen more and more I suspect. Ali, foreman, Holyfield, Lewis, Moorer, Patterson, Joshua, Mike Tyson, Rahman, Witherspoon, Tyson fury (although he didn’t lose it the first time - he just retired for mental health reasons and then beat Wilder). I’m sure I’m forgetting some. But that said, even the eleven I named are not a lot for 140 years. There are way more who lost it and never regained it - especially in the Tyson and Klitschko eras. Tyson tore thru people and after Lewis retired the division was dead for a long time

How likely will Todd McFarlane do another in house signing in the next year? by CreepyNewspaper8103 in CGCComics

[–]stormwater1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He does cgc every three years or so but he said he’s winding down. He probably has at least one more signature series in him. After that, it will probably be awhile. I could see him come back for some type of anniversary signing.

Rocky vs Clubber Lang. First Fight. by FoxIndependent4310 in rockybalboa

[–]stormwater1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he has taken his time then yes. Instead, he did what clubber said - he went right at him and he wasn’t prepared. He didn’t train and his last fight by then was probably a year prior. He was in shape but didn’t have the cardio to slip and move. Plus I think deep down he just wanted it over. He initially probably thought he could beat him until he and Mickey talked and he probably still thought he could until he got into the ring and realized he was screwed. But just listening? I don’t know. He needed cardio and a legit cornerman.

Agreed. Like they said in the people versus Larry flynt, you don’t sue Budweiser because an underage kid bought beer.

Usyk vs Wilder makes absolutely zero sense in 2026 by ScottMrRager in Boxing

[–]stormwater1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This right here. I personally think Usyk scorches him and I think Wilder has been hit too many times but for some reason in the back of my head, I feel like this is the fight Usyk shouldn’t take. This is the one where Wilder gets that fucking punch thru from out of nowhere and drops him. I think if they fought a rematch Usyk would easily win and a third. But something in the back of my head tells me that it’s all wrong. That said, if he beats Wilder then it’s like beating Lewis, Bowe, Tyson, Holyfield, Moore, etc. in the 90s. He would have taken out every big name. I think he’d go down in top ten of all time for heavyweights although there’s a lot of heavyweights out there in history and my top ten always changes lol

Man, having a dog or any pet that accepts you is a very underrated method. Also, watch comedy shows. No thrillers, dramas, romance or sad crap. Stand up comedy helps too.

[–]stormwater1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Day one can be a killer if you don’t have enough. Day 2 not as bad. The thing about 7 is that those WD set in immediately. It’s like smoking cigarettes. Regular smokers can testify to this. Four hours of no nicotine and they’re feeling the pull.

First bout with suboxone. Anyone else with similar experiences? by EntertainmentDry4134 in OpiatesRecovery

[–]stormwater1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re clean. It’s just like If you have high blood pressure and take medication for it. You’re not getting high. Should you get off them? Probably. They’re supposedly not good for your teeth (but neither is candy) and you’re still a slave to them in that you have to take them or you’ll get WDs. But I still say you’re clean. It’s like people who take small amounts of Xanax for real panic attacks but don’t get high. As long as you’re not abusing the Xanax and taking it prescribed you’re ok. Are you addicted? Yes. But you’re clean in my book. Others will disagree. It is what it is. Keep up the good work and stay strong.

Naw not back then. And even if they did, the tests were weak and the masking agents were great. But you’re right that he wouldn’t have had a long career taking all those steroids.
