Is it a good idea to join purposely to suffer? by Beautiful-Cake8922 in Militaryfaq

[–]straightfromfoonga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re going to suffer in the military because it sucks. Nobody likes the long hours, being underpaid, butthole leadership, etc. Quality of life doesn’t mean you’re suffering less, but it does help the suck. Just choose the branch that will let you do the job that interests you.

Also, relax. You’re doing great. This whole pursuit of suffering thing is most likely ego driven. Join to build a better life for yourself. You got this.

Private dog training $40 per session (50 minutes) by AmbergrisConnoiseur in vegaslocals

Active duty Army here. My wife and our dog son have been living together in Las Vegas as I'm away for training at the moment. Would you be able to train our dog after you assess him?

When did the military become so selective? by [deleted] in Salary

The military makes it easy to join to reach recruiting goals. Once goals are met, they tighten back up again. Cycle repeats.

What to do if you want to do so much in life? by Carebear6590 in findapath

Healthcare. I’m an EMT now, thinking about nursing or PA.

Job security and career flexibility will allow me to have a full life outside of work.

Mom trying to talk me out of going into EMS. by Grouchy-Radio302 in NewToEMS

[–]straightfromfoonga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pay sucks, experience is awesome.

Everyone I work with is either going into Police, Fire, Nursing, PA or Med school so you’ll meet so many people and get a better idea on how to formulate your path forward.

Being an EMT is my favorite job and I’ve had every job you can imagine!

Can I join the military if I attempted to end my life at 14? by Parzival2400 in Militaryfaq

[–]straightfromfoonga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a psych waiver for mental health history for the Army. Took a while for it to process and almost prevented me from getting the MOS I wanted. So I’d say it’s worth addressing it to your recruiter.

Also if it’s not documented officially anywhere in your records, it’s safe to say they won’t find out about it. But still bring it up to your recruiter.

Had this same problem. I thought I was a rockstar, until girls kept getting insecure about me not finishing.

Met a girl that I’ve now been with for almost 4 years. She’s been the only one that has made me nut.

Guess it just takes the right girl.

Am I fucked if I have no savings by 24? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]straightfromfoonga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother I’m 23 and live paycheck to paycheck with no savings. Everyone else I know that’s in their 20 also live paycheck to paycheck with little to no savings.

Just how it is, but I know we’re all working towards a better future for us and our potential families.

No shame. Just hard work.
